Certain things i try are very slow. i tried 3 different games, elder scrolls oblivion, call of duty 4, and halo 3. with oblivion it takes forever to scroll down my saves to choose one to save over, and when i do select a save to overwrite, it takes 3 times as long as usual. with call of duty i can't get into an online game, it puts me in my own match over and over and nobody ever joins, not to mention it takes a long time to get to that screen. and halo 3 i try to go to matchmaking and it just takes forever, i didn't wait to see if it even succeeded in connecting me. The dashboard everything is also slow. every action i make just takes a few seconds longer.
really funny thing is that some gaming sessions are fine, i have no problems with call of duty or oblivion or the dashboard.
p.s. i have a cooling fan on the xbox, and a small fan blowing on it just in case the cooling fan isn't working, because it makes a loud vibration sound when it is attached, which leads me to believe the cooling fan may not be working like it should.
p.s.s. there is something rattling in the box, a piece of something, i think it might be a piece of plastic from the cooling fan attachments (the 4 plastic appendages that keep the fan secured to the box) , for there are small pieces broken off of it.

However, once I'm in my offline game (Halo campaign mode, or a single player game like Dead Space), things are fine "in-game".

That doesn't sound good i would most defanitly call microsoft 18004myxbox and tell them, they should be able to replace your faulty xbox,

This is irritating but you have to wait a lot of game days until it pops up... for the profit make sure you have asked rumours around Anvil or another city. If you are in Anvil exit and come back in and he shall be in between Benirus Manor and The Chapel
i think you have two be a certain rank for shivering isles expansion but you can start knights of the nine anytime. google uespwiki its a site dedicated to elder scrolls and will give you all the info u need to know
The game is very buggy, especially the 360 version. Unfortunately the Live updates for the game don't seem to do much either. Developers have started getting into the habbit of releasing buggy games just to save money. If you have Xbox live, you can download any game updates by connecting then playing the game and it will update automatically. If the problem persists then e-mail the developers and complain, stating the issues you have with the game.
There isn't much else i'm afraid...
Possible defect in the CD, try attempting another disk. If that doesn't work, there is a potential chance it could be the Remote, unless this is the only game it happens to. Let me know how it goes. thats realy bad lag or your xbox cant keep up with your disc which means your xbox eye that reads the disc is dirty or failing i have the same problem but my xbox stope reading my discs best thing to do is get a can of air and blow it in to the xbox tray where u put your games and it should help if not i did my best
