PSP update from 3.50 to 5.01

When I download the update off of the Sony website and put it on my PSP it says that it is version 2.00. I'm not sure where I am going wrong. I don't have a wifi connection so I'm using to update via my PC. Any help please!!!

Hey it's better to have version 2.00, then you'll be able to use custom firmware M33. Can you give me the link where you downloaded the update?

How do I update my psp console?

If you have internet on your psp goto the left all the way and then go all the way up and there should be a update icon in your settings icon.

If this does not work you can download the update via sony's website and put it onto you memory card via usb from the computer and then update that way.

If you found this awnser useful please give a thumbs up or even better write a Testimonial.

Have version 6.35 on memory stick via network update but it wont seem to work when i go to install it it goes to a screen showing psp and wont go any further please help

Okay I'm not exactly sure how your screen looks but it might be the following:
1. Your computer/PSP didn't download the update correctly.
2. Your memory stick might be malfunctioning.

If its (1) then try:
- re-downloading it through the PSP
- re-downloading it on your computer and then putting on the memory stick again.

If it might be (2) then try:
- Another memory card and the above

HINTS:
- Follow this website http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/psp/pc/index.htm
- Turn of the PSP completely before trying.
- Have the PSP charging at the time of update.

Cheers :)

P.S:
If that doesn't work can you somehow upload/take a picture of the screen it shows?

My best guess would be to log onto the Playstation network. Make sure your firmware is updated to the latest version. There you can download demos, music, wallpaper and videos pertaining to all things Playstation.

You can try going to the sony website and downloading a firmware update to see if that fixes your problem. If that doesen't work then depending on what version your psp is there could be a lot of different solutions.
