the water will not drain away either when the final spin cycle has done or when you switch machine to drain, drum is full of water and door will not open.

Empty your machine manually by lowering the drain hose into a bowl or bucket. Then remove the kick plate and check the filter for blockages.Before replacing try the machine on drain to see if the pump is running, if problem persists there may be a blockage in the pipe from the drum to the pump.
