Question about Pioneer AVIC-N2 Car DVD Player

1 Answer

When I turned on my truck one day, the screen rolled out fine, but the screen never turned on. I can still use the radio through the buttons sometimes and the touch screen still works because I can still hear it. I don't know what's going on, but I am pretty frustrated because I've spent a lot of money on this and after a year it stops working. If anyone can help me out and tell me what's wrong with my deck. Thank you.

Have you been able to resolve this? Encountered exact same problem a couple of days ago. Not even the back-up camera works. Frustrating doesn't begin to explain it. Thank you.

The problem has to do with the Ribbon Cable that goes from the radio to the screen. The ribbon cable is exposed at the opening of the CD/DVD slot. Sometimes you will inadvertently hit the cable while inserting CD/DVD's and overtime it will wear out.

Must send head unit and hide away to Pioneer where they will fix it under warranty or for a $200 fee with a 5-7 day turn around. Seems unfair for a known design flaw!

does the car make a clicking noise when you try to start it. The best way is to take it off and have it checked at an auto electric place and havve them fix it. this will be cheaper than buting a new one.

Sound like the car is not recharging the battery as you drive. Take it to a different shop and ask them to test the alternator and entire charging system as well as the battery.

This may be as simple as some cells in your car battery being knocked out. Try a jumpstart and if this works then it is the battery.
