I've seen a lot of people discussing this problem on their forums-- it's the issue where a television has a self-diagnosing system that includes a blink (commonly the Sony models) that flashes whenever the tv detects that it may have an error. My television is a Sony KV36 HS500 model, and it has a 6-blink to tell me if there's an error or not. Recently, the blink has begun flashing and it isn't possible for me to turn on my television. After looking at several discussions, I would think that the problem is somewhere inside the D-board of the television. The locations of the ICs are 8002 and 6501; I replaced both of them-- the tv worked once, but never again after I turned it off once. Sometimes, when I attempt to power the tv on, it may come to work after 30-50 tries at the power button. When I turn it off afterwards, the 6-blink turns on again and the tv cannnot be turned on anymore. Help? Does anyone know what might be the problem here?

Yes, there's a posibility that IC561 is partially faulty but on the symptoms you've described, I would advice you to replaced first C539(470uf/25V) and C561 (47uf). I've suspected that these filter electrolytic capacitor is already leaky or dried up...
This could be alot of things but I tend to lean towards a power supply issue. The short story is that when your tv starts up, it checks alot of things to make sure they are correct. If one of the voltages is off, then the tv protects itself and turns back off. In my experience when they turn back off its almost always power supply issues. It could be a card pulling down the powersupply, or the neat gizmo that powers the light. But I have not seen alot of that.
Generally if its not a power supply fault that the tv just cant tolerate it will flash a code at ya. Blink blink (Im messed up and here is the number of the fault) Blink blink BLINK!
I wish I had better news, however powersupplys are one of the cheaper and easier things to fix.
