Question about Yahoo Messenger

1 Answer

Norton 360 just installed and now yahoo messenger won't start

Everytime I try to sign in it starts then goes right back to the sign in button. I have even tried turning off my firewall. This does not work either.

Try opening norton firewall or norton settings just to make sure that yahoo messenger is not blocked by norton

Am unable to see messages which am sending & recieving in instant chat

Hi,

First try sign off and sign in for few times , if you still face the problem then uninstall the yahoo messenger and reinstall

Even i also faced the same problem , For few times sign off and sign in had worked or even restarting the PC also worked.
But after uninstalling and installing the yahoo messenger i got rid of the problem

If uninstalling and installing the yahoo messenger also not work then follow the below two steps

STEP -1
go to Start Button - Run - type regsvr32 jscript.dll - then press OK
STEP-2
go to Start Button - Run - type regsvr32 vbscript.dll - then press OK

now your yahoo messenger will work normally.

Can't open yahoo messenger

there's a virus or something like that in your pc!!!!!
Install a new updated anti-virus, I would recommend Norton 360 or McAfee.
Run complete virus scan and then see whether it detects anything or not.
After the scan is complete try to login again. If you fail again, reinstall the Yahoo msngr and then login

Hi,
Load the Yahoo home page (see Resources below) and start Yahoo Messenger by signing in using your account information. Sign up for an account by clicking the 'Sign Up' button if you haven't done so already.
  • Step 2 Click on a contact in your Contact List once Yahoo Messenger loads. This will make a number of different contact options appear like sending photos and files, as well as making direct connections.
  • Step 3 Click the 'Call this PC' icon. This causes the other person's computer to alert him or her of your call.
  • Step 4 Check your voicemail by clicking 'Menu' and then clicking the 'Voicemail' option. If you have voice messages, you can easily listen to them here.
  • Step 5 Click on the 'Soundblast' button to choose from a list of different sound effects you can use in your conversation

Norton 360 just installed and now yahoo messenger won't start

Hi, This may be a little help, i used norton 360 with vista and had a few problems with msn, i have since removed norton for other reasons but in the settings or tools there is an exceptions page where you can choose the programs that nortons can ignore if you tell it to allow msn it will then work ok. I believe nortons sees msn as a threat because it has in and out communications therefor it shuts msn down. I hope this helps if not try avg8 it works very well with vista.
