I've had quite a few of these in my shop, and the problem is usually the power supply. Additionally, when the power supply goes out, it can do damage to the motherboard as well. First try swapping out the power supply and if that doesn't fix it, you will probably need a new motherboard.
Well lets hope nothing fried, What i would recommend to try is to unplug the power chord from the back of the computer and hold in the power button for about 30 Seconds to remove all the power from the board. Then plug the power chord back in and hit the power button and see if the computer starts. Let me know if this works for you. Thanks
I had this happen to my emachines T1842 about a year ago. I replaced the power supply and it worked fine. It was about 25 bucks but fixed my problem. Make sure the red switch on the back hasnt been messed with. it should be on 115. If you have moved it, it may have blown a fuse inside the power supply.
whining is bad sound usually means one of your fans is dieing most common cause is cpu heatsing or power supply fan check those to out bye powering the case up with the side panel off see if the fans are spinning if you see any of the fans not working power off asap and replace the fan that is making the noise.
hi.. even i too had the same problem.. The solution is in device manager if u select USB option u will be able to see 6 USB sub options popping down from the menu... select each option and right click it... u can see the option uninstall.. try to uninstall all the 6 ports in that device manager.. after clciking uninstall option shut down ur system and restart it again.. now ur USB ports are ready to work...
see what power button did you hit? usually cpu has 2 power buttons one on the rear and other on front, maybe you have hit the power button at the back, try inspecting it with a flash light if it's a toggle switch just switch it back to permanent on and use the power button on the front instead.
The problem here is the POwer SUpply Unit of your computer the opne that is responsible in giving power to your computer since its already 6 years the power supply gone bad already and needs a replacement, so what you need to do here is to buy a new Power Supply and repalce it already so you can use the computer again...
