Question about Vtech VT 2461 Cordless Phone
After electrical storm, phones work with the base, but the display keeps flashing the "--" sign which means it is in programming mode (?) according to the manual, but none of the buttons make it stop that. It also makes a clicking noise with every blink. This noise can be heard on the phone that is matched to that base. The remote phone and base have no problem. The answering machine does not work since you can't get past programming mode. I have tried unplugging. no luck. Any ideas?
Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: VT 2461 Won't let me register new handset
Rosehello's solution worked with one additional step for my handsets...After re-programming all of the 4 handsets, I had to unplug the base unit one more time and then it reset. Until that time it would only show"AL" and would not function.

SOURCE: My VTech 2461 cordless phone is stuck on Pulse
Use the link (on this website) to the instruction manual. I glanced at instructions to change it to pulse when I was researching my problem. They probably have instruction on how to undo it as well

SOURCE: My Phone will not connect to the base unit...
My handset displays CONNECTING...
Move the handset closer to the telephone base. You might have moved out of range.
This is what was listed in the Vtech Manual.
What I suggest is not just powering it off, but remove battery and wait a couple of minutes. Put battery back in and try it. The other thing I suggest is a new battery or switching it temporarily with a phone that works, to see if that helps before you buy a new one. If the battery is weak it will have trouble reaching the base.

I have the same problem. Contacted VTECH and they told me to (follow the manual) unplug, wait,re-plug, and hold the menu button until I hear time set command. And if this doesn't work, I need to replace the unit.
I'm now looking for a new unit, hopefully just the base!
