Try a microsoft update to see if it can detect you have no audio device, if it detects it it will say in hardware after it checked your computer for updates, if this does not work then you need to go to the computer or motherboards manufacturers support website do download the driver

Driver ok but no audio. hasee t2050

First, doublecheck that the headphones or speakers are connected to the correct socket and are working. Obvious I know, but it's surprising how often that catches people out.
Next right click onthe speaker icon in the tool bar (bottom right corner) and open volume mixer and ensure volumes are well up.
Finally go to Control Panel | Device Manager | Sound Video and Game controllers and ensure everything's working as expected.
That should sort you.

Sound only playing out of one speaker in Windows XP

Go into Sound Settings under control panel. There should be a left-right audio control setting in there.

If that doesn't work, try updating the sound driver for your computer.

Speakers stopped working

I get such a thing from time to time on different systems. What I do:

1. Open the Sound Control Panel (the one on this present PC is named: "SoundMax Control Panel").
2. Enable or Disable a certain feature (something like "Virtual Theater Surround" or "Virtual Ear" or "Acoustic Environments" or so on).
3. Click Apply and the sound is back in your speakers.
4. If you want, you can undo the enable / disable and the sound still works.
