Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

Ubuntu and Sansa clip MP3 player nothing happens

I've tried everything to install the mp3 player, without any luck. I cannot get Ubuntu to see it. Or the Rhythmbox to see it either. I have no idea what else to try. I've switched it from MTC mode to MSC mode, without anything happening...I need a suggestion. I've got Ubuntu not windows - help me out here!

Out of the box, the Sansa Clip only comes with windows-compatible software. Most of the Clips have firmware that is out of date and not supported by Ubuntu. If you have access to a windows-based computer, connect the Sansa and update the firmware to the latest version. Then connect it to your Ubuntu computer and it should recognize it as a USB device. You should then be able to drag the music files to the MUSIC directory on the Sansa. Also, you'll want to make sure that you have all the latest updates for Ubuntu. Either use the synaptic package manager or open terminal and run the command " sudo apt-get update " followed by your adminstrative password. Also, it will have to be in MSC mode.

Computer says problem with new hardware when plugging in Sansa Clip MP3 player

Go to this link and select your unit in the download wizard and download the drivers for your device. Install the drivers without the Clip MP3 plugged in. Once the drivers are installed, you can then plug in the Clip MP3 and windows should correctly identify your new hardward and finish installing the drivers for it.

Sansa clip

You don't need Vista to install the Sansa Clip. Run the installation CD (or grab the software from Sandisk's website), and plug the player into your computer.

Please help me?

Heres something that worked for me....when I first got my e280 it worked fine then one day it just stopped.. After dealing with sansa customer support several times without any luck and trying everything else I could find in various forums, I came up with something that works for me....1st, if you are running vista, the device has to be turned of when you plug it in. If that does'nt work, try putting your sansa in lock mode...with it turned off plug it in to your pc and hit the power button until it turns off the push it again until it comes back on I did this several times and It worked and it continues to work....Good Luck.
