I Have an ATI Radeon X1300/1550 series graphics card, i purchased it about a year and a half ago, when i try to play games the game starts and then after a few minutes, the video goes to black screen, and the computer is unresponsive, i think I'm having heat issues, but not sure, i'v tried all kinds of things, do u have any suggestions on what to do to solve this issue, or even if its solvable? Thanks

Re: video goes to black
My suggestion would be to take the video card out and clean the heatsink off really good, then go to your local pc shop and get some thermal paste (shouldnt cost anymore than $4) take the heatsink off the video card and apply a liberal amount to the gpu spread it thin and evenly, once your done your video card should run alot colder than it did when new as the thermal paste they use deteriorates fairly quicky
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the game resolution is not supported by your monitor....this is the reason your screen goes blank....
by the next time if the screen goes blank,
press alt+ctrl+del together and check are you able to see the task manager....
if you can see the task manager, then close the game from that window by selecting end task....
if you cant see the task manager, then press ctrl+alt+del together 2 times and check....
if nothing works, then try by checking with any HD monitors if available with you or with your friends...
I just looked at my machine and i see the ATI HotKeyPoller I go to control panel then administrative tools then services but I have XP not vista. Many querks about vista. Maybe something to do with the drivers for that ATI cards. Have you checked for newer releases from their web site. Or maybe just remove and reinstall the drivers. If this helps please reply-that helps me continue top answer questions here and good luck
The mobility series from ATI Radeon are not suported by the game... i know that not even KOTOR 1 works with mobilyty cards. That is a thechnical problem you have due to the video chip. You can try to change it but since it is a mobility series it means you have a notebook computer... you will have some hard days rtying to find a video card for a notebook. Try at a repair center for laptops, maybe they have a solution. Note that the MOBILITY ans nVidia Geforce GO are not supported by many games... it's not worth it to mention that INTEL GMAs Graphic Cards are absolete for gaming. Try a ATI HD series or better an nVidia Geforce 7600GT 7800GT 8600GT or better. THe game works even on ATI 9200 and nVidia FX 5200 but there were never put in notebooks
check if the games take too much memory so that the card not able to work, if you used to play it before without problem, check the card fan if its working, and at the same time check your computer cooling if its cool enough.
The 9250 is not supported in Vista so you will have to go for the 9550 series or 'X' series, but whether you go for 256MB or 512MB memory pci type chip is upto you and the game requirements.
Click here for vista graphics cards by ATI and click on the Vista 32Bit ans see which to use and then look at the details.
