You simply put a couple of drops of pneumatic oil in the air chuck on the handle every time you're going to use it, and then hook up the hose.

Does the campbell hausfeld model sb504000 2 inch nailer/stapler need an external air to get started?

Sb504000 works just fine with pressure range from 60 to 120 psi depending on material. Any small compressor will work great. Using the gun at max pressure will shorten the life of the gun. Best practice is to set pressure to just under 100psi for most work and increase pressure when nailing hard wood. Using at max pressure will strain the driver and the lower part of gun (screws that hold nose to body). Some hard woods will bend an 18 gauge nail. Good luck with your gun and have fun with your projects.

I have three nailers from CH and all of them sound like there is not enough pressure to fire the nail when i depress the trigger. i hear air escape, but it is at a reduced level compared to normal...

Check and adjust the air pressure at the compressor. All air tools have a recommended range of pressure, and you may not have enough air for the tool to work. Also, place two drops of pneumatic oil or light machine oil into the air inlet at the nailer, and then connect the hose. Fire the gun several times into scrap wood. Oil with 2 drops daily.

I have a 34 degree Campbell Hausfeld framing gun and after connecting it to the air compressor and with 125 lbs. air pressure I click the trigger and it doesn't fire.

May just be a stuck headvalve or safety is not pushing trigger pin all the way into trigger valve. If trigger pin is being pushed up all the way into valve, check headvalve. Remove head and try to press in headvalve with thumbs. If it feels stuck, apply air pressure to vent hole on gasket surface to pop it out. Apply silicone paste lube to surface and orings. Re-install and check. If head valve was not stock, lube and replace head.

Gun fires, leaves good indentation, no nail. WCE working properly, took head apart to look for jam but nothing in there and am using compatible nails. Also oiled it but no luck. Was working fine doing...

Remove nails and use thin tool to push driver all the way up to top of cylinder. If the gun fires one nail then skips, the driver is not returning to top of cylinder. If no nails fire, then nails are not feeding into proper position. Driver must return to top to allow nails to feed into position. Most common problems are bent driver, worn piston oring and bad batch of nails(head too large). Good luck

My campbell hausfeld 3 1/2 nailer has been working fine, just today will it started misfiring. It would put out one nail, fire again -no nail. It seemed to be every other one, then it would be good, then...

Use wd 40,and spray it in the air input hole, where you connect the air line, and use the nailer, multiple times, then oil the slides for the nail hopper, and then after you do this,re oil with tool oil.If this was helpful, please rate.

Nailer has very little power.there are no nails jammed

What about the compressor,? Is it up to 120 lbs? Does it have a reg on it? Most nail guns run at full steam, no need for the reg at the comp. If the gun isn't leaking air, It should be working. Check it out.

Two nails at a time and one of them only goes in one quarter of an inch.

Campbell hausfeld makes a 21 and 34 degree angle nail gun. The most common mistake is the wrong nails are being used. Some after market nails will not work correctly in some guns. Check to see if the gun accepts wire welded or paper clip nails. Check the angle required. Also be sure the gun is oiled if it is not an oil- less gun. hope this helps.

16g wont shoot nails. bottom flat piece comes out

You broke the "hammer" you can open the housing and replace it, fairly simply. You can buy replacement parts at most large scale hardware or tool stores. The task takes about 10 min, and some simple hand tools.
