I need the software disk or a download site for installing a LexMark Z611 on a new computer.

This is what I did to find the driver necessary to install your printer to a new computer:

1: Visit Lexmark's Driver Download Site.
2: In the section that reads, "Download by Product" type in: Z611
3: Click the image/link of your printer (might take a moment to appear above the text-area).
4: Scroll down and find the appropriate driver that corresponds to your Operating System (If you have Windows XP, download the driver for XP. If you have Windows Vista, download the driver for Vista).

If the method above does not work for you, Microsoft has been getting better at locating drivers for you through Microsoft Update. If you're running Windows XP, go to the regular Windows Update page and look for links for Microsoft Update (By default, Microsoft Update is not used for Windows XP. You have to request it through Windows Update). After "signing" an agreement and installing a few more files Microsoft Update will look for updates to your system. Once the results are displayed look into the "Hardware" section. If you find anything in regards to a printer, chances are Microsoft found a compatible driver they know will work for your printer. Remember, before Microsoft Update can locate drivers for your printer it has to be connected to the computer and turned on.

If you're using Vista (W7 is just an enhanced version of Vista, yet Vista nonetheless), just go to your Start Menu and search for Microsoft Update -or- Windows Update. Afterward check for new updates and do the same as mentioned above. Look into the hardware section to see if there are any entries for a printer. If there are, select the update and install it. Remember, before Windows / Microsoft Update can find drivers for your printer it needs to be connected to the computer and turned on.

Personally I would use the drivers from Lexmark, yet I figured I would give you two choices. Let us know how things turn out.

Printer won't print

Although Lexmark has not released a Windows Vista driver for the Lexmark X75 printer, there is a good chance that Vista will support your printer without the need for installing a driver (i.e. Windows Vista probably comes with a driver for your printer already built into the operating system). Windows Vista comes with support for 2.2 million devices and since your printer is not a new model, it is likely to be supported. Just try connecting it to a computer that is running Windows Vista and see if it is detected and installed for you.

We do have the drivers for Windows 2000 and Windows XP available for download from our driver database:

Cannot connect my printer to my computer

This came right off of the lexmart site

Attention Windows Vista Users: Attention Windows Vista Users
If you have installed your printer on your PC using an original Lexmark Driver CD that came with your product and you are experiencing problems when printing, you may have installed the Windows XP driver.

Follow these steps to resolve:
· Disconnect your USB cable from your printer.
· Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC.
· Download the correct Vista driver for your model.
· Install the driver on your PC.

Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected.

  1. Go to the Lexmark Find Drivers/Product Selector page.
  2. Enter Lexmark P6250 under "Search by Model", and click the Search button.
  3. Select your OS from the dropdown (Vista).
  4. Click Download Now.
  5. If you're asked to Save or Run, choose to Run (it keeps you from having to go find the file and double-click it later).

Installation of a downloaded driver for Lexmark X1290 All-In_One

Hi,

You need to download the Vista compatible setup here from Lexmark,

http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:567:0:0&searchLang=en&os_group=Windows%20Vista&target=

Run the setup after it finishes downloading but ONLY connect the printer to the computer when the setup instructs you to do so.

Panel or in All Programs

Lexmark tell us that your printer works with Vista:
Operating Systems Supported Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64
Microsoft Windows Vista
Microsoft Windows Vista x64

Try reinstall the driver, here is a link where you can download it:
http://www.downloaddelivery.com/srfilecache/cjr4200EN.exe

If all cables are plugged in and the printer is powered up, you should see it in Printers after installing the driver.

Let me know, rate the solution! Thx.

Can't get to work on my new computer

I'm going to need more information here. What operating system are you using? If you're using Vista, the CD that came with your printer is probably useless. You first must download the Vista drivers from here: http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:439:0:0&emeaframe=&fileID=11493&searchLang=en&searchLang=en&os_group=Windows%20Vista Here's the installation instructions: Attention Windows Vista Users If you have installed your printer on your PC using an original Lexmark Driver CD that came with your product and you are experiencing problems when printing, you may have installed the Windows XP driver. Follow these steps to resolve: · Disconnect your USB cable from your printer. · Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC. · Download the correct Vista driver for your model. · Install the driver on your PC. Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected.
