SOURCE: TV Snow and Static Sound

Sound like its all cabled wrong So its from the source, (wall satalight Whatever ) to VCR in then VCR out to TV, Now when the VCR fires up it tunes the RF output to Chanel 4 and has a strong signal, that over rides just about every thing. Simply way to stop this is one of two ways, press the TV/VCR button on the VCR, or simply turn off the VCR to let the signal pass through.

SOURCE: The TV does not pick up the sensor from the remote control.

FYI All, I finally got around to actually fixing the remote sensor on the TV. The sensor is located behind the O in the Sony logo on the front of the TV on the HC board. It is easily removed by removing the back panel of the TV and unscrewing the lower front-screen brace (there's an S sensor attached w/ one screw which needs to be removed first). Once the brace is removed, you can pull out the board which has a 3 pin connector w/ 2 grey wires and one white wire. simply disconnect this connection to remove. On my board, I found the 2 zener diodes were bad, I simply replaced w/ Radio Shack 12V zener diodes and all was good-to-go. I happened to run across Radio Shack part 270-640, which is a compatible IR sensor, didn't need it, but it will work if your sensor has gone.

Please find a user manual above, and a service and repair manual below.

You need to check, that BOTH units are set to correct video format, IE: NTSC of PAL. The Connections are wired up correctly, the Correct External INPUT has been selected on the TV. Remember you do NOT use "Channels" to view Externally connected devices. You always wire color to color on both ends of the equipment. Please follow the manual.

I do not have a remote control for my Symphonic tv and I am trying to put the tv on channel 3 or 4 but I can't. It goes from channel 2 to 8. Please help.

Below are some places where you can purchase a symphonic remote control. But if you don't fancy buying one why not tune channel 8 and upwards to the station's that your are after and just forget about the 3,4,5,6,7. My quess is that the tv system is set to skip these channels. If you go to Menu > tv settings, check out the channels that you are skipping, it should be in the installation part of the tv setting's menu. Make sure that where it say's SKIP > OFF on all of the missing channel's.

Hope this is of some help. Bit long winded but hey! :-)

Hughie.

No tv remote

Go to Radio Shack and get an universal remote control, mine is a Phillips Universal and just program it to your tv. It has a tv/vcr input to let you switch to the right "input"/channel.

Codes for tv

usually the universal remote comes with a code book. if you're TV is not on it the remote won't work. But most TV's are on there. If you can't find the TV, go to the ORIGINAL COMPANY of the TV. (RCA, Samsung, etc.)
