First you have to know the password or know where the password was set. once the Garmin is unlocked you can go into the settings sscreen and change it. if you "forget" the password take the Garmin back to where you locked it and it should allow you to use it normally.
otherwise SOL. those don't unlock with any tools. even the Garmin Tech's cant help you without you sending them the GPS. Sweet revenge when a unit is stolen.
If you are away from you "special location" it will always ask for a password.
If you are at your special location it will not.
You have to turn off the password option in menu if you no longer want it.
When you set the password you set up a "security location" go to this place and if should be unlocked. You can also send it in with a receipt to an authorized garmin dealer to have the password reset with a small service fee.
Wedll if this is not a stolen GPS Then the matter is simple. Take it back to the exact coordinates that you set the pin in. Then you will be able to access the pin setup and reset it to a new password. Your only other choice is to send it to Garmin, but if it has been listed as stolen, then expect the cops! No one forgets their pin or fails to remember the instructions for setting and recovering their pin.
Unfortunately, even if you perform master reset on Garmin GPS unit, it
does not reset Garmin Lock security feature, which password-protect most
Garmin electronic devices to deter theft. If you forget the PIN or
password unlock code to unlock the Garmin unit, the best solution is to
bring it to Garmin to get unlocked. “

So unfortunately, there is only one option: You have to send your nüvi into the Garmin, who can unlock it. Remember original receipt.
