Your RAM is enough.. no need to upgrade the RAM. I would recommend to optimize your PC by using PCFresher. It wil fix windows errors and remove junk files from pc that consumes processor and RAM.

My compaq dx2450 wont register ram and its only about 8 months old i bought direct from hp but they wont help i really need to upgrade my ram

try adding one ram stick upgrade at a time, while leaving one original in the system till it boots and recognises the increase. repeat until finished adding all the new ram. if these measures dont work, its possible you have purchased ram that is not matching to the upgradable standards of your board. its important when adding ram to insure you match the ram speed with your replacements upgrade.

I have a compaq presario cq60-215dx notebook pc, was wondering how do i go about upgrading the RAM?

I have checked the Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX Specification It Originally has 2GB Memory and supports upto 4GB RAM max. If you intend to upgrade the RAM, you can buy additional RAM and put them in you system. Here is the HP Guide to Replace RAM and How to Upgrade RAM Guide
Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX has two RAM slots for DDR-2 (533 or 667) Memory Modules. First you have to check that the RAM slot is available for additional RAM. I believe that it has two modules of 1GB each in both slots. So, you have to get two modules of RAM 2GB each to upgrade to 4GB (or one 2GB RAM module to upgrade to 3GB). Hence, it is recommended that you get 2GB replacement module for each 1GB module you have on you system from local laptop repair/ service center, which would be cost effective as existing 1GB RAM Modules would be useless for you upon upgrade.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Good Luck!
Appreciate generously, if the solution could have been of any help!

I have a ACEer 5315 model no ICL50 running Windows Vista. To say Vista is **** is an understatement. I want to switch to Windows 7 but guess I will need a lot more RAM for this. Can I upgrade Ram on this...

Hi,
I recommend that you switch to Windows 7 without upgrading your RAM. Windows 7 is a lot faster, better and uses less RAM than Vista. Recommended RAM for running Windows 7 is 1GB but I have installed them on a Centrino 1.5GHz with 768Mb of RAM and they run perfectly.
So make the upgrade to Windows 7 anyway and if you feel that you need more power then you can get more RAM.
Also, download Windows 7 upgrade advisor to check if your pc is compatible. Download upgrade advisor here.

How to Upgrade to max RAM

The Acer Aspire One can be upgraded to a total RAM of 2Gigs. This will allow for you to upgrade to Windows XP Pro and also to Microsoft Office 2003 as there is no version of Office Professional. If you would like more specifics on your particular model, please look here. http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/acer-aspire-one-10-inch.aspx?page=3

Upgrading RAM is a fairly simple process. As this is a fairly compact laptop in design, you will have to upgrade to a new 2Gig RAM module and basically discard (or sell) the one you end up removing. In order to find out the type of RAM you'll need, remove the cover as show in the picture and the info for the existing RAM should be written on it.

Good luck!

Upgrade ram on HP LAPTOP COMPAQ NX9010

Ok, so you just got more Hard disk space, or a new bigger Hard disk. Of course you need t upgrade the Ram memory. This computer supports Ram memory up to 1 Gb with a max frequency of 266Mhz. You probably have 256Mb or 512Mb of Ram Memory. You can go to any computer store and get it upgraded. It shouldn't be expensive. But don't forget :

Use this tyoe of RAM: DDR SDRAM (266 MHz), Upgradeable to 1GB

By the way, even after the upgrade, I advise you to run a Defrag of your Hard Disk and clean all your temp files.
There is a free and easy software to clean all temp and internet temp files: Ccleaner.
