hello, all. I've been lurking here for a few months, and it's amazing to me how
hardcore and dedicated you guys are, very impressive.
here's my problem: a couple of months ago, I bought a Saeco Vienna de Luxe.
it's a superautomatic, and has been working flawlessly until today, when it
just stopped dispersing espresso except in tiny drops. I've cleaned the brew
group plenty, but I wonder whether I should be cleaning the grinder also. it
doesn't say anything about that in the instructions, and there doesn't seem to
be any way to remove the bean container. of course, it's Friday afternoon, so
the Whole Latte Love (where I bought it) technical people are home for the
weekend, any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Jon Abbey

midway, did you? One grinder setting will not provide equal brewing
results for different roasts/beans. I owned a Vienna from early 98 to
2001, so I'm pretty familiar with the machine. I would recommend
setting the grind setting as coarse as possible and starting over for
a good steady stream of espresso... could be as simple as that, I
hope!

pumping water in a relatively good volume without coffee.. The
reservoir is full, and the water pickup tube (if it has one) is in the
water...?

thanks for your answer, Randy. it's a superautomatic, so it won't pump water if
there are no beans in the machine, it looks for the beans first, and if they're
not there, the warning light comes on, and it stops until you add beans. the
reservoir is full, and there is no water pickup tube, it goes straight into the
machine.
any other suggestions? one thing I could definitely use is someone to tell me
how to take out the bean container and clean the grinder. this doesn't seem to
be anywhere in the instructions. thanks...

Becuse dont know how cleaning the grinder will help.
You were also given a tip about putting the grinder to more coarse, just whanted to point out that if you do this first make three cups of coffe (trie) . And after that take out the brewing unit an clean it.
Make 100% sure that the filters are clean.
