have HCN473W Samsung TV and get dark stripe on one side of TV. Can you help?
Problem for Samsung HCN473W 47 in. Rear Projection Television
Blue Tint
The TV will work fine for a little while but once it has been on for some time (all different amounts), the screen will get a blue tint through out the screen but you can still see the picture its just everything goes a slight blue colour. If I then turn the TV off and on again then the blue tint will be gone, but will come back again. If I turn the TV off for the night and then switch back on the next day again it still goes blue but takes a lot longer to turn blue.

- We have the same blue tint problem. When we go to the "align colors" menu option, then to the blue/red adjustment screen, the white "cross bars" show up, and there is also a little bit of blue line extended from the right side of the horizontal cross bar. No amount of adjusting on this align colors screen makes any difference.- poetpoet99Nov 08, 2007
- Our tv gets a bluish/whitish tint to the picture after it is on for a while. You can still see the show that is on, but it is like a cloud is over it.We can "fix" it by turning it off and on, or by hitting the side of the tv (but who wants to do that all the time?). It is becomong more frequent. Is this fixable, and if so what is the reasonable cost for it? The tv is a big screen rear proj.Mitsubishi - not sure of model - but I am guessing it is 7 yrs old or so. Most likely cause would be a loose solder connection that expands as the set warms up until it no longer makes a connection. You may get the blue to come and go by hitting the side of the cabinet after the set is warmed up awhile. (don't hurt your hand doing this, and don't keep doing it to "fix" the set. The connection will have to be located and repaired). Otherwise, there could be a component going bad, including the blue picture tube.
