Netgear xe102 isnot picking up an ip address

I would like my sons playstation 3 to use the netgear connnection but it cannot find an ip address to do it,it says connection failed. What do I have to do to get it to just connect to the netgearxe102 and not my wireless router. My wireless router is only hitting about 35% in his room but I can get the signal from the netgear xe102 at 100%. What do I do.

-- Xe102 is a plug n play powerline device
-- there is no specific configuration required for that .
-- try hard resetting from the reset hole on the back of the device
-- then get the powerline checked
-- check the light status of the powerline device.
And if the problem still persists , upgrade the powerline device ..

Can't get network connection using XE 102 and WGX 102. Have Mac computer and a linksys router. In room with the router, I pick up the linksys network on my MacBookPro laptop. Installed (hardwire) XE 102...

Hi,

If you are able to pick signals on the laptop, i am sure that your router & mac book are good.

there are only two possibilities to work on ;

1.) look for any interference between the router & computer in the other room like ( refrigerators, television, Music systems, AC, Thermostats)... by pass 'em if required.

2.) The installation of the reciver on the Mac book might require a range setting.

I purchased two netgear wall plugged bridge XE102. They worked fine for one month. Now I get messages on my computer do not detect homeplug adapter. On my TV it say's is not hooked to the internet. What is...

I had the exact same problem those branded ones at our shop where one just stopped working all together.
THeres a couple of things to rule out so you can try some steps to figure it out.
Try changing the port on the router where the first plug is hooked into, if you can, try a direct connection without the plugs aswell. Also, try inserting the plugs in different outlets and see if anything has changed. If they're only a month old, they are still under warranty and you could get them replaced either through ytour place of purchase or from netgear aswell.

Trouble installing XE102 Powerline

there wasn't actually any problem with the device. For these bridges to work, you need to be on the same phase of the wiring. If the devices are on different phases then they can't communicate. But I still couldn't get the encryption to work. Netgear support doesn't seemed to be bothered with that...they told me to ignore it.
