Ricoh Aficio #1045 service code # SC542

We purchased this machine through a bankruptcy and the machine shows a code of SC542.  I called a local company, they really don't service this brand, but he faxed me a page to try to clear the code - but the directions were for a different machine and the one we have doesn't even have the same buttons.  I understand that this code could be because of a brownout, fuse issue, etc.  I would like to try to clear the code myself before I pay someone $100 per hour to come and tell me if they can help. Do you have any suggestions on how to clear the code?  If so, I would be ever so greatfull!!
