I have done many of these. Unless your quite knowledgable on the consequence of making a mistake while doing this, i'd recommend you hiring a consiencious serviceman. Dont forget, , a cup of oil is equal to a stick of dynomite under the perfect conditions. when installing this, carefully follow the manufacturers instruction on the combustion chambers clearances to the blast tube or combustion head. THere are baffles usually added, accordingly to the draft measurements you attain, the zozzle size , pattern, and angles is an exact adjustment. Prepare ahead of time the face gasket for the burner plate,Mark the depht of the burner intrusion so that you reinstall it the correct way.If this was originaly done by a ****** oil burner mechanic, this might have been the reason why it failed, as, if this was all done accdording to code and practice, this shouldn't have failedi'll watch for your progress and intrude (lol) when i see i shouldgood luck

If a oil heating contractor wishes to sell him one, they usually can get it, i totally agree with you, there could be legal reprecussions helping him installing this.
In our province, we are totaly responsible for the heating products we sell to unl;icensed techn or home owners. i usually would disagree with this form of big brother control, but this i'll make an exception
    keep good guys

Your heating supply store will have a replacement unit.  I do suggest you get a pro to do this, however.  Your burner should be tuned and this is not a job for an amateur.

Where do i adjust boiler temp on a gas fired boiler

difficult to say just where the temperature control is on your system. it will likely be an immersion type control located some on or near the boiler. it should have a temperature range scale on it.

Make : Weil-McLain Model : CG-5-SPDN Series 12 I have the above mentioned boiler which is located on the 1st level of a three story one family house, the area where the boiler is located is insulated.

You don't have an optimum distribution of steam in your house. Try closing a little bit the valves supplying the heaters in the lower floors. Close a little bit more until you get the desired balance.

What do i need to do with my chimney to fit a log burning boiler stove

First, your chimney liner must be clean and intact. Then it will have to be lined with a flexible metal liner, that is the same diameter of the flue pipe coming off the stove, that will connect eventually to the stove. This line will provide the proper draw for the stove, as well as reduce the chance of chimney fires. In addition to the liner, there should be a weather tight chimney termination with a spark guard screen.

I do not have a room thermostat connected to my oil fired central heating boiler. I want to install a wireless room thermostat to avoid having to run cable. how do i go about this and which is the best...

All wireless wall thermostats are Millivolt controlled. rather than having an 18 or 24 volt (transformer) wired wall thermostat. Before purchasing any wireless wall thermostat, you need to determine what your oil fired boiler requires for activation. My experience tells me, that it's going to require either 18 or 24 volts. In which case a wireless thermostat won't work.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Weil mclain furnace always locks out or latch up have tried button always repeats. oil in tank

Your problem could be in a number of areas. Have you checked and/or changed the filter? If you've had a recent oil delivery, there's a good chance it stirred up the sediment in the bottom of the tank and caused the filter to clog. Likewise the nozzle could be clogged. I would check those two items before anything else. After that, it could be a bad flame sensor or, if it doesn't ignite at all, a bad high voltage ignition coil.

Domestic oil fired central heating. Keeps tripping out with no oil feed(has tiger loop and this is empty) If oil is drawn through filling tiger loop again boiler will fire up and run for betweeen 2 days...

many times the feeder tube from the bottom of the tank becomes perforated. the return tube is ok most of the time . try switching the 3 8 tubes from inlet to outlet and see if problem resolved. if so the the tube down into the tank is flawed.
