You are probably low on black ink as the streets are usually printed in black, if you open up your printer while it is on the print cartridge will move and you can see were it points too. I find that sometimes the cartridge gets plugged up and you need to wipe the bottom of it with a wet cloth and then it works again also give it a shake but make sure you hold onto the bottom or the ink will spray as I found out lol. Also after you do this turn the printer off and on again. You may have to do this a couple times but it finally worked for me! hope this helps.

Under the change preferences general menu, use the right arrow to go to the 4th page (4/8) and tap the Street Name preferences. Then put a check mark in the boxes Show Street names, Show next Street name, and Show current name on map. Press Done, twice. As some menu options may be hidden, the Street name preferences option may be on some other page..
All of the Garmin automotive GPS units that speak streetnames are also loaded with basic voice prompts (i.e. 'Turn Right in 500 feet') as well as 'text-to-speech' voices that speak streetnames. If one of the basic types of voice prompts has been selected, the voice prompts will not speak streetnames. In order to change this setting, please follow these steps:
Touch Tools (Wrench Icon) from the Main Menu
Touch on the blue rectangle that corresponds with Voice
Touch on a voice that is labeled with (TTS) at the end. These voices will speak streetnames. Options without a name or the TTS label will say the distance until the next turn, but will not include the street name.
The voice has now been changed.
If this is not what you meant, please reply with further details. If you found the solution resolved your issue, kindly take a moment to award this a Fixya rating in appreciation of my efforts.
Garmin automotive GPS devices that have text-to-speech (speak street
names) are also loaded with pre-recorded voices that do not speak
street names (example: "Turn Right in 500 feet"). If one of these
pre-recorded voices has been selected, the voice prompts will not speak street names. To change the voice prompt to spoken street names:
Touch Tools (Wrench icon) from the Main Menu
Select Language or Locale
Touch the Voice language option
Select a voice
option that includes a person's name (ex. Emily) or TTS. Options
without a name or the TTS label will say the distance until the next
turn, but will not include the street name.
The device should now speak street names. *Note: The Setting option is not required on all nuvi units.
Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions,
please feel free to post them here.
P.S. – I would greatly appreciate a FixYa!
rating if the solution I provided fixed or helped you resolve your problem.
My nuvi is supposed to speak streetnames when giving voice prompts but it doesn't. How can I fix this?
