Question about Whirlpool Gold 24 in. Built-In Dishwasher Dishwasher

1 Answer

Whirlpool dishwasher doesn't clean/drain.

Model #GU98OSCGQ2. It cycles through, but with long delays between cycles. When the "clean" light goes on, there's still water in the bottom of the tub and the dishes are not clean. When I push "Cancel/drain", a motor goes on and it sounds like it might be draining, but when you open and check, there is still water in the bottom. A service technician was here this morning, he checked the drain hose under the dishwasher, took a white, plastic thing out and cleaned it, said THAT was the problem and left. Unfortunately, he didn't seem to know much about fixing dishwashers and was on the phone with his supervisor. It still is having the same problem. Any ideas? At least if they send HIM back to me again, I can point him in the right direction. Thanks for ANY help you can give me!

We have the same problem. The service repair guy said it was a clog in our plumbing after the dishwasher. I snaked all the lines and still have the problem. I got charged ofr the visit even though he did not do a thing to help me. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Sounds to me like a drain pump restriction or failure. let me know if this helps.

Whirlpool DU930PWP02 Start Light Flashes 3 Times and does not run

Sounds like the anti flood alarm has activated - may be a small leak from the door or the sump into the base tray. You need to drain the tray, fix the leak and test. Try cleaning the door gasket and part of the door it seals against.

My Whirlpool Quiet Partner II will not drain at the end of the final cycle.

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Whirlpool model dp8500xxn2 Leaving white film on everything

Dishwashers have a part usually called a separator or accumulator which traps the dirt from the water during the wash cycles while the water is continuously recycled to clean the dishes. At the end of the cycle the separator is flushed out and the trapped dirt goes down the drain. If it doesn't get flushed out the dirt builds up till it starts showing up on the dishes. Some separators have a hole on top and one on bottom with a valve which stops up one hole or the other depending which cycle it's running. The valve can be stuck or broken causing the problem.

I can't get the light to clear off. I can "cancel" and it goes through the drain cycle, but when done after opening the door to reload, then trying to start, it does nothing.
