What makes you think the freon came out? How old is it? What is the model#? You need specialty tools in order to put freon back in, and you must use the correct amount.

That is not good. The fridge will need to have the tube repaired, then a valve brazed on and a new filter dryer, then recharged, this will cost approx 150 -300 $ depending on the servicer. Hope this helps.

The tube you broke is a capillary tube a metering tube for cooling,  the dryer captures any moisture and impurities in the system so not to damage the compressor or plug the capillary tube this cannot be picked up at Home Depot it must be picked up at a refrigeration parts site, and the system uses r134a if your ac is proficient he should be able to repair this no problem, the amount of freon neede is on the model # tag.

I have a Jenn-Air side by side frig. The freezer side cools too cold, the frig side not enough. 2 weeks ago I took all the food out of freezer and noticed ice build up on back. I unplugged unit, let it...

If the freezer is staying cold it sounds like a defrost system problem. A bad timer, heater or thermostat can cause frost to build up on the coils and block air flow to the refrig side. Check out for troubleshooting the defroster problem.
There is a small duct between the freezer and refrigerator side if this is blocked the frig side won't cool.

Model 253. 54362409 boards get power but water and ice wont dispense

check the fill silonoid on the back of the frig where the water line connets to the unit.. that is the solinoid
sounds like it is clogged up.. usally happens after a few years with hard water or well water. if that fixes it try putting a inline filter before the frig to keep it from happing again.

Ice maker has stopped making ice. did this before, cost over $200 to fix last time. shaft that kicks ice out froze up and wouldn't release ice.

If the cubes keep sticking, they are probably too small which is caused by too little water presure to the frig. You need 30 pounds PSI to frig so make sure there is no RO system connected to it. Thaw the ice and start again.

The freezer door pops open when the refrigerator door closes

there was an service flash on some type of these frig's but the fix was only a small spacer on the frig door where the gasket meet the frame not a very good fix to save frustation try less force or then again try to gap the gasket a bit not too much to allow air to enter too much

Ice in frig air vent

you did just fine defrosting it but, when you put everything back in don't overpack it, leave room for the air to circulate. the heat from the bottom unit will cause enough condensation to leak down the air vent and the it will refreeze blocking your vent again
