Raising the handlebar how do you do it?

I loosened the big bolt in front of the handle bar, where the horizontal and vertical bars meet and then I pulled up and nothing moved or the vertical bar didn't expand upwards. Is this the right way?

Thanks
Stavros

How do you raise handle bars?

There is a long bolt at the top of the neck which is used to pull a tapered nut into the bottom of neck.
Loosen this bolt by 3-4 turns and tap it down to release the taper. Secure the wheel from turning while turning the handlebars and the handlebars can then be raised or lowered as required. Straighten the handlebars in relation to the wheel and retighten the neck bolt and you are done.

How do I higher the handlebar on my barracuda slalom bike pls?

Usually there is a bolt on the top of the gooseneck, loosen it (you might have to tap it to loosen it) then raise it up by moving the bars back and forth. but make sure you do not raise it above the safe limit, it is stamped on the handle bar stem. then retighten the bolt

Raise handlebars

There is a bolt on the top of the goose neck that hold the handlebars in place. It should be a 1/2 inch, some are metric so just find the right size. Loosen this bolt about a half inch to an inch. It will be sticking up out of the neck. Tap it in with a hammer, it will go loose. Now just raise the handle bars where you want them and re tighten the bolt.

How do I raise the front handle bars on my Schwinn Jaguar?

On most bikes (Jaguar is a broad category, with varying details) there are two bolts in the middle of the handlebars. One bolt squeezes a clamp around the middle of the handlebars. If you loosen that one, you can tip your handlebars up or down. You can usually see this entire short bolt and it's nut (actually you would loosen the nut.) The other bolt is the one you want. On this other bolt, only the head of the bolt is visible. This is actually a long bolt that extends down into the the handlebar stem. The nut is down inside the stem, and it wedge-shaped so that it jams the stem tight inside the tube that houses it. Loosen this bolt about two turns, but do not remove it. Just give it a tap with a hammer, to free the wedging of the nut. You will now be able to pull the handle-bar stem up. It will probably still be snug, so you will have to twist it back and forth to pull it up. Pull the stem all of the way out and take a look at it. There will be a line on the stem that tells you the maximum safe height to which you can raise it. Re-insert the stem at least far enough to hide that line. If this is not high enough, you can buy a longer stem to replace it. Good luck, Al K

How do i raise the handle bar?

behind the handle bars, where it joins to the bike is called a stem. Remove the center allen key bolt that runs down the center tube. Lift the handle bars up an inch and tighten the allen key bolt again. Your handlebars will now be a little higher for you.

Another way is to loosen the clamp bolts that hold the handlebars to the stem. With riser bars, you can twist them in the same spot and this will angle them up a little. You will have to loosen the brake/gear levers and angle them down until they suit you.

If neither of these works you can buy stems which have varying heights and lengths.

Hope this helps, please vote for me.

How do i raise the handlebars?

There are two bolts in the center of the handle-bars. One bolt (on some bikes this is actually 4 bolts) is used to clamp the handle-bars to the handle-bar-stem. You can see both ends of this bolt. If you loosen it, you can tip the handle-bars up and down, but not raise them. The other bolt you can only see the head of. Loosen this a couple of turns (don't unscrew it all the way) then give it a tap with a hammer. You will then be able to pull the handle-bar-stem completely out. Do this so that you can see the wedge-shaped nut at the other end of the bolt. You should also see a mark on the stem that indicates how high you can safely raise the stem. Put the stem back in to the desired height and tighten it back up. Good luck.

Raising the handlebars

You will need a 6mm allen key to loosen ( turn anti clock wise) the handlebar stem bolt which when you sit on the bike and look down its just under yer nose :)

Please make sure when you raise the handlebars that as it lifts up there is a marking on the side of the handle bar "stem" with markings like this """"" if you see these you need to lower it down so you cannot see these.

You loosen the nut that you see where the handlebars enter the front tube on the frame. Pull up a bit after loosening and then be sure to tighten the nut back when you get it where you want it.

How to raise handlebars on diamond back outlook bike??can't figure it out help?

If it is a conventional handlebar stem, loosen the bolt on the top of the handlebar stem a couple of turns, tap the bolt with a hammer.
The bolt should drop down, at this point the bars should be loose.
Do not raise the handle bars above the safe limit line as the stem could break of come out .
Once you have them where you need them, re-tighten the bolt.

Hope this is of some help.

I need to raise the height of my handle bars.

I am not sure which question to answer, so I will try both.

raising the handlebars, loosen the stem bolt 4or 5 turns, (this is the bolt on on the top of the handlebar stem). Tap the stem bolt with a hammer, the bold should drop down and the handle bars should fall loose, adjust as needed, then tighten the stem bolt to set.
Please note, there is usually a limit line on the stem, do not raise bars above this level as iy will make the handle bars unsafe and could pull out or break off.

second question, Child seats ar very adaptable, an will fit most bikes. Be sure to use all the necessary hard ware and safety guards. for you and your passenger.
Try to get the seat set up as low as possible as the higher the seat the higher the center of gravity. It will have less effect on handling characteristics if you keep the seat low.

I hope this is of some help.
