Question about Hoover Elite U5061-900 Bagged Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Suction problems My Hoover elite vacuum (which is less than a year old) is not sucking up properly. Also, when I detach the tube that goes to the vacuum cleaner so I can add my attachments, it blows OUT dirt through that opening. HELP!

With your model tempo, the hose needs to be connected to the tube in the back (should have a door cover that flips open). Also check the suction path and change the bags or filters if needed

Valve sucks in and hoover loses suction

Your vacuum may have a suction release valve that is opening up because there is a clog or restriction somewhere.

Most likely your vent for the suction container is plugged or the suction hose can of or is broken at the connection to the tank nozzle (very common on these. Clean the machine thoroughly, and check that all hoses are tight and connected.

No suction

Check again for obstructions in the hose. Also underneath where the debri goes when it is being sucked up. Also make sure all your hoses are connected as this could effect the suction.

Have a Hoover SteamVac with 5 brushes and it will not suck up any water and I have cleaned all the brushes but it still wont pick up any water

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Part of the problem is with your holding tank, there is a rubber gasket that seals the unit to pup the water and if that gasket is cracked or missing it will not pup. Also there could be something wrong with the suction motor or the Hoover SteamVac may be clogged and will not pup the water, if there is a way to say back track the suction then follow the suction back to the suction motor and if you see a clog – remove it. Otherwise you may have a bad suction motor and it would need replacing as a last resort. If the Hoover SteamVac is less than one year factory warranty it would be covered under the Hoover factory warranty and then feel free to contact the local Hoover Factory Authorized Dealer in your area, so call the cust serv @ Hoover and they can direct you to a dealer that would cover this under warranty. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

No suction at floor brush. Plenty of suction in the tube that goes to the joint just before the 90 degree turn to go from the handle to the brush area.I lowered the handle so that the tube was straight and...

Are you sure the brush roll is turning. If not sometimes it will appear to not be sucking. Take off the bottom plate, then you can get to the brush roll and belt.

Steam vac will not pick up dirty water

My Hoover Steamvac problem isn't with the bruches--it's with the suction. Dirty soapy water stays in the carpet instead of being returned to one of the holding tanks.
