Powers on, Controller wont connect, nothing shows up
I've had my playstion 3 for almost a year now and Its been working AMAZING, up until now... i turned it on and nothing shows up on the T.V. Screen and I cant even hear Sony's introduction sound. no audio or video. Ive switched T.Vs and the problem is still there. Ive disconnected the cables and blown into the sockets and still doesnt work. Ive used the regular Red, White, and Yellow cables NOT THE HD. Also the controllers wotn connect, they just flash for about 5-7 secs than turn off, same thing happens when I plug em in to charge. Ive tried everything I could do and it still hasnt worked. Any and all comments are deeply appriecaited as you can see, I need my PS3. Thanks and best regards!

Re: Powers on, Controller wont connect, nothing shows up
Switch the hard switch off in the back of the ps3. unplug power cord... press and hold power button located on the front f the ps3 for approx 10 secs, then let it sit for a few, then hook it back up and turn the hard switch back on and try to power it back up.
I have had this happen once before but it did return to normal.

Connect the controller. With your playstation 3 system powered down, connect the mini-USB --- which is the smaller of the two ends on the cord --- to the slot located in the center of the top of the PlayStation 3 controller. The USB end of the cord should then be connected to one of the multiple USB slots located on the front bottom of your PlayStation 3 console.Turn on the PlayStation 3. The console will automatically recognize the connected controller, which you can then use to operate the PlayStation 3. By powering up the console with the controller attached, the two will automatically pair up and sync.Shut off the PlayStation 3. Hold down the P button located in the middle front of the controller until a menu appears on your screen asking you whether you'd like to shut down the PlayStation 3, shut down the controller or cancel. Choose the first option and wait until the console powers down. Disconnect the cord from both the PlayStation 3 and the controller.Turn on the console with the controller. Holding down the P button on the controller, wait until the console powers up and the introduction screen appears. Your controller is now synced with the PlayStation 3 system.Troubleshoot your controller. If the above steps do not work, there is another step to take, according to PlayStation's troubleshooting guide. Straighten out a length of paper clip and then flip your controller over so you are looking at the back of it. There is a small hole in which you can insert the paper clip and reset the controller's settings. Once you do, repeat the steps above to sync your controller to the console.

If it wont connect/sync with the power cable, and if it wont turn on with the power cable plugged in, its probably broken. Dual Shock controllers come with a one year warranty. If you call Sony 1-800-345-7669 and can prove the purchase of the controller, they should fix it/replace it. Nothing more you can do though if its not working properly.
Have you set the video mode on the machine or plugged it up to a different TV? if so try this >>>
Make sure all leads are connected to the TV.
Next, turn the
PS3 off so the red light is on. Hold down the power button on the PS3 until you hear a beep.
Release the power button and press it again. That
should have reset the video settings so you will be able to set the video
settings again and access the PS3 menu.
I had the same thing with my PS3 on a samsung 40". Try pressing the power button down on the PS3 for 5 secs or more, until it beeps (Not sure if it's one beep or a series of). I think this is how you reset the system and it should automatically recognise and reset the resolution size to HD on you're screen. Hope this helps,
