Question about Sony CMT-EX1 CD Shelf System

Open Question

Cd stuck listened to cd, left it in, listened to radio, left alone for a while. Now I can't get the load/unload mechanism to work? It's a few years old and I can't see a way of forcing it to work. Any ideas?

CD changer in my 1998 Saab Estate will not eject? Anyone?

You may have a CD stuck part way between the player mechanism and the magazine. You can try loading and unloading several times to correct the problem but in some cases the only cure is disassembly

2000 Buick Century. Put in a replacement radio/cd/casset player. Radio works, clock works, but CD and casset do not. The message comes up E 13. What does this e code mean?

if its a radio shack radio, it means E13 means "Tape Communication Error". It is caused by the
microprocessor reading speed pulses from the tape deck either too fast, most other makes mean about the same thing, normally a stuck tape will cause this code to show up, either that or the drive gear that loads and unloads the tape is broken, cracked, or jammed

Radio stopped working properly! Pontiac G6, 2006, 6 cylinder.

The CD load/unload mechanism appears to be malfunctioning. You have to take the radio out and see if you can manually remove the disc or pick up a used radio from the scrap yard

Some cd's wont load

Currently I have one that won't load or unload.

That problem is a slipping drive belt. It is a small square profile belt near the front left of the machine. There is not enough tension and the motor spins its pulley inside the belt. The mechanism it drives is the load and eject function.

Code 99

e-99 indicates that there is some type of mechanical jam, the microprocessor requires reset, or the system had some major failure. try to remove power from the system for a few moments, and then reconnect. this will rest the microprocessor and possibly restore function. if there's a disc stuck in the magazine, or stuck somewhere in the loading or unloading sequence, it's sometimes possible to free this but the changer will have to be removed from the vehicle and partially disassembled.

I had the same problem and i brought a new ford oem cd player 2 times and my mechanic says its an electrical problem with some fords not the Cd player or the radio. So your cd player may not be junk, it may be electrical or wiring problem.
