Does the X4500 work as a stand-alone scanner

The X4500MFP requires a compatible Lexmark printer in order to do any functions.

    Dear Cliff8928,
    is there any possibility to make the X4500 receiving faxes and send them via eMail to my PC? I meen, the device is able to scan to email, why doesn't it be able send incoming faxes via email to a preconfigured mailbox?

    you need the option card for the printer

Lexmark x4500 says unsupported left cartridge. I have checked it and it looks ok.
Try to clean contacts with a cloth napkin or cloth (and those on the printer)

I turn on my X4500 scanner, It begins the inialization, gets to 100% and just sits there. It does not progress any further.
Usually that's a network problem, try doing a factory default of the network base hold the right and the check button "go" button til you see the menu for maintenance then look for network restore part, do a factory default of the network and then restart the scanner again after the printer starts up again

should be good to go

Scaning problem not communicate to pc xp-2 how to fix .
Hi follow this trouble shooting steps.


1.Are you able to copy a document in stand alone with out connecting to computer If yes scanner is working fine.

then perform next step

2.Place a document on Scanner bed then Open MS paint on computer Then click on File

Click on From Camera or Scanner with this option you can scan.

have you tried to reset the whole printer to factory defaults


**411 -> 4 -> 1 then the green go button

Scanner needs camera device fixed -
Are you using this as stand alone or through the computer? Whichever try the other way - If standalone try it through the computer. If in the computer try stand alone. If in the computer re install software. If all the variations do not cure it then its good bye to that one and onto the next - there is nothing that will fix.

Scanner failure
I assume from your remark you are using this as a stand alone device or are you connected to Computer? If you are using as stand alone try through the computer. If you are using it through the computer then simply re install the software. If you are using it as stand alone only. Contact the makers website for more detailed support.
