SOURCE: john deere x340 wont move

there is a release usually behind the seat that has to be pulled in order to push it physically. make sure that the release is pushed in for the forward/reverse to work.

SOURCE: I have a John Deere GT225. The hydrostatic drive

sounds like your linkage is disconnected, With the tractor off raise the seat and back panel (if possible) and work the shift and look for failing linkage.

SOURCE: john deere runs then stops

I fixed my mower stalling issues on the L111 by loosening the gas cap. I ultimately drilled a hole in the gas cap and screened the hole. Sounds ridiculous but without that venting the engine would run approximately 20 mins and die. It was also much more difficult to start the next time. Something else to pass along to whomever might view this... I replaced the cranking battery with a battery that had allot more cranking amps and I no longer had hard start issues ( this was after I vented the gas cap). Hope this helps.

did you drain the gas before putting it away last season? If not, I would drain all of the gas and put in fresh gas, also replace any in line gas filters

John Deere six 46 son hit rock and blades cut for about 2 min then stopped and won't come back on mower runs fine

With the mower turned OFF check the blades to see if they aren't bent and if it spins freely. There should be resistance when you hand turn the blades. A bent blade can jam and lock up the drive system. If the blade spins freely and has no resistance check the drive belts from the blade pulley to the gears that run the blades. Hopefully you have just had a drive belt come loose or break, a reasonably cheap and easy fix. If the belts are OK you will need a mower mechanic to look at the gearing for the blades.

Mower was moving & just stopped

You'll have to take a cover off where the drive is for wheels as there is probably a belt there

John Deere EZ track Z425 the belt that makes it go forward or backward must of came off or is loose, how do I fix it??

The John Deere EZ Track does not use a belt to drive the machine. This is a hydraulically driven machine. If you look at the back of the machine under the cowling next to the rear axle, you will see two metal rods sticking out at you. The ends of the rods are bent downwards. You can pull the rods out towards you or push them in. When the rods are pulled out, the machine will not drive because the rods are drive disconnects. If you push the rods in, you should be able to run the machine.

I have a L118 John Deere mower. When cold, the mower moves forward and reverse without problems. I mow my 1/2 acre yard and at the last couple passes, the mower barely moves forward and has no reverse. ...

Hi, remove the battery and battery support tray and clean all debris from around the hydrostatic drive, fan and cooling fins. Your problem is caused by the hydrostatic drive overheating. Hope this helps, regards Phil
