Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

Canon Image Class D340 Printer... Copies come out very black like muddy. Image is there but almost invisib le. A low toner has been sugested to me, but I hate to buy a cartridge and not get a fix out of it...

    The machine seems to be ok otherwise. I've tried all the settings availablel but unable to get a clean copy. Is it possible that a low toner is my problem.?

    Not the answer I wanted, but I have allready ordered the cartridge since it seemed to be the only logical way to a solution. Thanks anyhow////

    Thanks for coming back with some new ideas. I'm hoping the toner cartridge will do the trick. I have already tried all the adjustments that the machine alows. I hope it's not some of that other stuff you mentioned because I read the instructions about how to clean the scanner and it didn't make any sense to me. If this cartridge doesn't work I may have to learn how to clean these other parts...Thanks a lot.

Even I would have suggested a new cartdridge....Its supposed to fix your problem...and make the images more visible,,,,use your printer utility to check for the ink level...

Hi,
Could you tell the the age of the toner you are using ? A noramal tonner last 3000 pages or 1 year

Try first lowering brightness in print settings. |If this does not work you need to buy a cartridge, at least to test it.

    It is possible that the toner is the problem, particularly if the toner is not an original replacement.

    Dark copies ralso caused by a defective scanner lamp.

    A dirty glass or mirror.

    Settings, in this case adjust exposure manually. And check that the machin is not set on
    automatic exposure, adjust the brightness/exposure manually.

    In any case it is necessary to test a new toner first, to understand if the toner (as often happens ) is the core of the problem.

    If it is not the toner, second common reason is a bad lamp.

    Check also if the glass and the scanner mirror are clean.

Its related to the fixing temp. do the error clear on service mode. then check the fixing film assy. heater circuit contact points for corrosion. Replace it.

Colour cyan not printing


Did all of the packaging come off the toner successfullywhen first installing. Can you see cyan toner on the transfer roller? (Black roller on actusl cartridge)?

Laser printer makes light clicking noise when idle


When idle is potentially the fuser unit, after heating and cooling. However the print quality issue associated with the clicking sound could indicate an electrical issue. The HVPS maybe faulty causing the print quality issue (due to dependant parts) and the electrical click. In any case I would recommend calling Brother and finding the nearest authorised service agent.
