Question about Siemens Gigaset 4215 Cordless Phone
I have owned 3 handsets and bases for 5 years. Recently, one of the handsets started doing the following: When it is placed back on its charging base after a call, it gives a confirmation beep then continues to emit this beeping noise intermittently until it is either removed from the charging base or switched off. This is most irritating and makes charginf the handset problematic! I have tried moving this particular handset to the other two bases and it does the same thing so the problem appears to be with this particular handset. I recently replaced the batteries but this hasn't helped the problem.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: Beeping Handsets
Mine have done that as well.
After cleaning the contacts on both the handheld unit and the base itself, it seems to stop the problem. Try using a qtip that is wet with water or alcohol.

You will need to register it to your base station before it will work. You do so by holding down the registration/page key on the bottom of your base for a couple of seconds, and then grab your SL30 and push Menu, scroll down to the option of Handset settings, press OK, then scroll to "registration" and push OK, select base station 1, press OK, then enter the default pin of 0000 and press ok. Repeat these steps if first not successful. You can download a manual for free on our website at www.cordlessrepair.com

SOURCE: Handset won't work
I went through this exercise with a Siemens Gigaset 8800. The solution is to DE-register the handset first. Then register it with your base. This function can likely be accessed in the handset menu. The phone you purchased is apparently still registered to the previous user's base.
