The remote is a RCA NITEglo does not have a product # also does not have a indicator light. these remote it has 4 botton on top wich they are OFF-TV-VCR and a botton that light up the VOL-CHAN-INFO-SEARCH-MUTE& GO BACK.

- I found the following:Programming the NiteGlo Remote.
1. Manually turn on the TV.
2. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the INDICATOR LIGHT lights, then release the CODE SEARCH button.
3. Press and release the TV button (the INDICATOR LIGHT will blink then remain lit).
4. Enter the code for your TV.
After your code is entered, the INDICATOR LIGHT will turn off.
5. Aim the remote at your TV and press the POWER button. Your TV should turn off.
Note: If your TV does not respond, try all the codes for your brand.
6. With your TV on, press CHANNEL UP. If the TV responds, no further programming is required.
However, it did not work for me. I got stuck at number 2! The indicator light never came on.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CODE , and you need to do a CODE SEARCH, then do the following...
turn TV on
press CODE SEARCH button till it lights up
press TV button
slowly push CHANNEL UP button until tv changes channel
hit the ENTER button
Code will NOT LOCK IN unless you hit the ENTER button.
* It can take several pushes on the channel up button before you find your code. I have a Sanyo tv, & my magic number of times to push channel up button is 50.

This remote was also supplied by RCA for their VHS player, model # VR629HF.
The instructions to program it can be found in the user manual for the VHS player:

1-Turn on the TV
2-Find the brand and code number(s) on the code list on the next page
3-Press and hold the TV button on the remote.
4-Enter the code from the code list.
5-Release TV, and then press CHAN up or down. If the TV responds to the remote commands,the remote is programmed.
6-If the TV does not respond, repeat these steps using the next code in the list.
