Question about GE Profile Spectra JGBP90 Gas Kitchen Range
THE OVEN WILL NOT COME ON. THE CLEAN LIGHT BLINKS ON AND OFF WHEN I SET THE TEMP, THE OVEN WILL WORK IN SELF CLEAN MODE, TOP BURNERS WORK FINE, I HAVE REPLACED THE CONTROL UNTIL ON TOP AND HAVE REPLACED THE BOTTOM OVEN IGNITOR. THE PROBLEM PERSIST. THE IGNITOR WILL NOT COME ON AND OVEN WILL NOT LIGHT. DO YOU GUYS HAVE A SOLUTION. THANKS IN ADVANCE. ALSO NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN I PUT IT IN BROIL MODE THE CLEAN LIGHT JUST BLINKS ON AND OFF. BUT SELF CLEAN DOES WORK????

It was the igniter. The gas would go higher and then lower. The oven would take an hour to heat up. The new igniter did the trick. Thanks for your help and that link to the new part.

oven never lights , but shows its on,? never heats past 100 deg?? soundslike a bad bake ignitor to me take down the model number and order a bake ignitor, installs on the bake burner, under the floor of oven, with just a few screws and 2 wires.

This Randy again. I checked out the top of the stove as you suggested and found every thing to be ok. Where might the pilot light be located on this ge xl44? this unit is about 13 to14 years old.

If it is a ge it would have a glow bar ignitor, either a flat rectangle shaped or a round ignitor. That is want the problem is 95% of the time. It is pretty easy to do. The floor of the stove will come right out and it probably has two screws in the back corners you can see. Remove them and the floor will lift out and you can see the burner and the ignitor.
