Mitsubishi model VS-50609, serial number 121604 , made in 2001. Had a repair done earlier and they first resolver turner, where is that so I can check that, then came back and replaced IC Convorgence, 4 resisters. Where do I start from here? I have read about replace bulbs, or power supply unit is bad. Please help.

I have looked thru Manuel for self check and don't see how to do that test, how do I complete a self check?

  • Anonymous Apr 21, 2012

when set goes off and power light is also out press and hold both the menu and input buttons on front of set (not the remote) for at least five seconds and let go; set's power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

If you have unplugged the set you will have to power it up and wait for it to fail to try the self check as removing power clears the error buffer.

If you find a code it may narrow down where the problem is at.

Did the self check and it does 2 blinks then 3 blinks, does this 5 times. So far you are helping 100 percent and I thank you so much.

That sounds easy to fix if I knew more about volt/ohm, who or where to call or start now? But you did great.

To get an idea of why the set is shutting down when it does shut down if power light goes out do the self check this set should have.

Does the power light go out when it fails?

    2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem.

It means something in the deflection section is not working right--deflects picture up down and left right--This may or may not be a do it yourself repair---how would you describe your skill level at electronics repair?

Going to need a volt/ohm meter and likely need to locate a schematic---With the Chassis (circuit boards in the plastic frame) up so bottom faces rear of set I would begin with a very close inspection of the bottom of the boards looking for broken solder connections, l would then do the same for the top of the boards looking for any burnt or damaged parts.

    Can or cannot do?

The tv shuts off by itself. I will turn it on..and after awhile, it just turns off by itself, and then after about a minute I can turn it on again and watch tv for awhile, and then it will do it again.

It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur. The faulty component(s) are heating up, tripping the fault control, and shutting down, it cools down again, and will restart, then the process repeats, it will eventually fail fully.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done. It is that sound that gives it away, this is a typical switchmode Power Supply problem.

I replaced the lamp bulbs and the TV worked fine for awhile but shut off after about three days of use. I unplugged it and waited awhile to plug it back in the timer light blinked for awhile and then went...

While it is suspicious happening so soon after lamp replacement, your main power supply may have failed. In earlier sets, these were problems that eventually happened.

Why is my 42" dlp tv turns itself off after awhile?

the power supply is not working fine. your tv needs preventive service so that semiconductor, diodes and capacitors are changed on the power supply before it switches off completely on its own.

Tv won't turn on

good day sir, problem with your tv's switching power supply, at this point you have a choice of visiting/calling your service center, or do it your own? If you want to do it your own, you may need you dissassemble your tvs back panel, to have access to the circuit, locate the switching power supply section and test the following.
  • the switching power transistor usually with a heatsink.
  • the oscillator circuit, with a pulse width modulator IC that controls the switching.
  • the high speed power transformer.
  • the feedback circuit.
  • the capacitor and voltage regulator.
test all of them until you get the bad part. I don't want to sound technical, but thats how service centers do it. You may need to get schematics.

I suggest you call your service center, and let them do it.

Nothing inn the canister after using, suctione working, bottom roller working,no air leaks from hoses. Also when running awhile it shuts off by itself, have to wait awhile to use again

I'm not sure what vacuum you have, but that sounds like a blockage to me. Thermal shut off kicks in, shutting the motor down, to prevent damage from overheating. After waiting like 1 hour it probably comes back on. Make sure hose, filters, bag (if any) is clean. All "airways" of vacuums need to be clear of any blockages, since airflow is what makes vacuums work.

I have a 52" LG 52SX4 DLP TV, it now shuts off itself after about 10-15 minutes of playing. The bulb is fine, and fan is working fine, it doesnt get too hot, but tv still shuts itself off. I can turn...

Look for capacitors that are bulged and going bad, that is a common symptom when they fair, either the set won't come on unless its warmed up or it will shut down after it run for awhile

Vizio shuts itself off

I have found that turning off the power for awhile will work as a temp fix for a couple of days and then just repeat the process.
