Question about Brother IntelliFAX 4100 Laser Fax

1 Answer

Sent faxes keeps printing to fax machine.

We have all the workstations in our network fax through the fax console on our Windows 2003 server. It transmits successfully to the intended recipients but it also prints out a copy of the sent fax to the fax machine. I'm trying to disable the print out copy but have not been successful. I've looked at just about every configuration on the fax console. Any help?

Before installing a Windoze server (no matter what flavour) you always need to verify the compatibility (drivers) with the machine's hardware... A Windoze XP driver will rarely work for a server environment... Micro$oft built all servers version to run in server machine type... further more you also need to verify softwar compatibility as well... as not all workstation software is compatible with server environments... and your machine advertises that it is a WORKSTATION NOT A SERVER...

DNS errors then? can you map to the printer via hostname too? Are you sure you're not using SP3? When we upgraded to SP3, we had to use the new drivers. Try new drivers.Have you tried just rebuilding your print server? try sharing the printer off your computer in the data center and try t print to that. When you ping the data center from the user's computer... what is the delay?

We have a LINUX Suse server. We have this nhatquanglan virus on our XP machines. I can do a system restore on the XP's and all functions (task manager, device manager, etc) that were disabled by the virus...

System restore on XP is restoring individual PC stations but because you have probably shared folders on linux server you have same problem on server. Solution:
  • Remove network cable from linux server
  • Install some antivirus solution for linux server (in case you don't have one) and scan and clean server from viruses.
  • Also after you remove network cables from workstations scan and remove viruses from XP stations
  • When you finish those steps atach network cables and probably you will not have that problem
Reason for that is becausesome viruses and trojans are spreading through shared folders

Problem with fax on estudio 3511

When enabling the Offramp Gateway, this equipment works as an SMTP server to receive
Emails from the Internet. To enable the STMP transmission in this equipment, designate the hostname (or specific domain) that relates to this equipment in the DNS server, and designate the MX record to receive the Emails that are sent to the equipment’s domain in the SMTP server in your local area network. Then the SMTP server should be configured to transmit the received Emails to the equipment in the SMTP transmission. For example, if the hostname of this equipment is designated as “”, the SMTP server receives an Email whose forwarding address is “<account name>”, and the SMTP server transmits the received Email to the equipment. Then this equipment will send the received Email as a facsimile document to the fax number that is specified in the <account name> part.

Setup Procedures:
1. Setting up the DNS server and SMTP server.
2. Setting up the TCP/IP and the HTTP Network Service to enable TopAccess
3. Setting up the SMTP Network Service.
4. Setting the Internet Fax Settings.
5. Setting up the Fax Settings
6. Registering the Relay Box with Email addresses.

Dell optiplex gx-260 slow performace

If this is happening on all workstations you should look at your network settings and verify that your DNS settings are correct.  Also look in the error logs on the server to see if it is fillingup with system or application errors.
