First check out the battery which u r using r off good company or any local company.this problem occurs in local company battery usage.
the camera does not get required power to start up it just gets ON but cannot function properly due to lack of required power.so gets freezed or just stops functioning.
or the another problem to look out for if the battery is of orignal good company then
check out the socket ,the place where u insert the batteries there are some element to ehich the inserted battery touches if that element has dust collected on them it will not except the battery and this problem occus.if that element is slightly loose internally it looses it contact from the camera internally and this problem occurs.also if the latch, the door which u open to insert the batteries is not getting closed properly it does not push the battery completely to touch that element and this problem occurs.

and finally it could also due to circuit faulty in your camera and this problem occurs.it could be faulty due to many reasons due to moisture collected on the circuit or some thing like dust internally make circuit faulty.clean that circuit and try checking.
if nothing helps 2 options
1)take it to the repair shop for deep testing and locating the fault.
or
2)go for the new device.

thanks

Since HP dropped support for it and no information is provided about your specific issue, better check inside and investigate.

There is some kind of short circuit which is taking place inside the camera .

You need to open to see the connection between battery terminals and circuit board present inside.

Sir,

Usually when the battery is charging the light flashes until the battery is fully charged, then the light goes steady (usually at least three hours for the first charge).

There are other schemes as well: Light is one colour when charging and changes to green when charged or the light is steady when charging and goes out when the battery is fully charged.

thanks
goodluck

That is probably a lens error, or a problem with the main pcb inside the camera.

Only easy fix is checking if the problem disappears by removing batteries and putting them back.

I have RED/ White battery LED flashing and cannot charge the battery. Is the battery dying?

Yes, that combination of LED lights flashing together is the indication that there is a serious problem with the battery and you need to buy a new one.

I need a simple wiring diagram to turn on 40 red leds and 40 green leds on a 9volt battery

Two ways to do it..........

One is a Series circuit, the other is a Parallel circuit.

Of course you can also use a Series/Parallel circuit.

Each LED has a Positive ( + ) connection, and a Negative ( - ) connection.

A) Series circuit:

One side of Switch is connected to Positive ( + ) of the Battery.
The other side goes to the Positive ( + ) of the first LED light.

Then the LED's are connected together in a Series.

Negative of first LED light to Positive of second LED light.
Negative of second LED light to Positive of third LED light.
Negative of third LED light to Positive of Fourth LED light.

And so on, and so on, until you come to No.40 LED light.
It's Negative connects to the Battery.

ONE LED goes bad, and none of them will work.
Old Christmas light strings are set up this way.

B) Parallel Circuit:

Switch to Battery - Positive ( + )
Wire goes from Switch, to 1st LED light's Positive connection ( + )
Then wire from 1st LED positive, to 2nd LED Positive ( + )
Then wire from 2nd LED Positive to 3rd LED Positive.

And so on, and so on, until you reach the 40th LED.

Then wire comes from Negative ( - ) of Battery, to Negative of 1st LED.
Wire from 1st LED to Negative of 2nd LED.
Wire from 2nd LED to Negative of 3rd LED.
Wire from 3rd LED to Negative of 4th LED.

And so on, and so on, until you reach 40th LED.
Wire connects to Negative of 40th LED. Then a wire connects from 40th LED Negative, and goes to Negative of Battery.

Series Circuit;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Series_circuit.svg

Over to the Left side you see the Battery symbol. There is no switch in this circuit.

In the Battery symbol, the Longer line represents the Positive pole.
(Positive connection)

Resistors are represented by the squiggly lines. In place of them put your LED lights.

A Switch would go in-between the Battery, and first LED light; on the Positive side.
(ALWAYS put the Switch on the Positive side. Can explain in detail if you need)

[The Top line in the diagram, is the Positive 'wire' ]

Parallel Circuit:

http://www.autoshop101.com/trainmodules/elec_circuits/circ122.html

In a Parallel circuit, if one LED light goes out, the rest stay on.

HELLO :0) It (my Kodak Easy Share C533) will not come on. The camera just sends me red flashes of light 2 (x2) quick flashes and then 4 slower flashes... then shuts off. The lens never comes forward......

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

My porter cable 19.2v model 8605 battery charger

Porter Cable has not offered a replacement for their poorly designed 19.2V chargers. I had the same problem and happen to like my drill and circular saw. I found a universal charger called a model number CHUN-2420. Google it--I got mine for $27 plus shipping. All you need to do to make this work is splice 3 wires.

My charger is a PC model 8624, so the instructions might vary slightly between the chargers. Remove the six screws on the bottom of your PC charger. Remove the bottom section. Remove the screw(s) that attach the circuit card to the plastic housing. Disconnect the 3 pin white charging connector from the circuit card, and cutoff the connector. Discard the circuit card and power cord. Cut the 3 conductor (red/yellow/black) cable coming out of the Chun-2420 approximately 2' from the charger. Splice these three wires to the three wires in the charger housing that connect to your battery. In my situation, Red/Red, Yellow/Yellow, White/Black. To verify, red=positive, black/white=negative, yellow=temperature sensor. Wrap the red/yellow/black cable with electrical tape where it exits the PC charger through the power cord hole. Re-attach the bottom.

I have a samsung s1070 and the lens is stuck out, it makes a whirring noise like its trying to move anda few beeps but thats it. also the screen wont come on at all its just black. do you know whats wrong...

Hi,
It seems your camera Lens got stuck in open condition.
This will happens due to two reason.
1) Either your camera battery got died or need to be recharged or replace. or 2) Your camera is malfunctioning and need service (repair).
To resolve the problem, follow these steps.
1) Switch the camera OFF and then ON again. (May be your camera lens is struggling to extend)
2) Remove and recharge / replace the battery, If the error does not clear, Keep battery battery out of the camera overnight, and try again the next day.
Else your device need service (repair)
good Luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Samsung Digimax V4 Power Consumption

I had similar symptoms as well until it finally died: 1) First started eating batteries like crazy, especially standard AA and rechargeables. The CRV3 seemed to work a bit longer. 2) One day out of nowhere the autofocus stopped working. I replaced the batteries and it worked again for 10 shots. Then the autofocus stopped working and battery died (with the lens stuck open). Pressing power, the LCD backlight flashes on, the LED in the view finder blinks, and the lens motor makes noise. Then nothing just stuck open. 3) Again new batteries and was able to close lens, take a few pictures and dead again with lens stuck open - same problem in 2. 4) Replaced the batteries a couple times and was able to get a shot or two off, and now its complete stuck open, even with brand new batteries - with same problem in 2 it just won't turn on. I finally sent it to Samsung the week of Christmas. I called Friday 1/7/05 to check and had to leave a voicemail. They called back Monday 1/10/05 to let me know they recieved it and that I should call back Thursday to check its status.
