A problem with the printer

Everytime i print, there is a small noticable line running across the paper. I was wondering how can i fix it myself? Where can i fix it for cheap? Is there like a tech support online or by phone?

Simple fix for this one, just run the cleaning cartridge and cleaning label you get in each new box of paper.

This evening I bought a new HP Photosmart C4780 printer. I am trying to print photos now and the photos are being printed with small vertical lines across the whole photo. How do I get rid of them?

> I bought a new printer

Take it back, and get one that does work correctly.

> VERTICAL lines ACROSS the whole photo

Hold the paper in "portrait" mode, not "landscape" mode.
Are the lines HORIZONTALLY-ACROSS the paper,
or VERTICALLY-DOWN the paper?

If those lines are WHITE and HORIZONTAL,
then some of the many ink-jets inside the print-head are *CLOGGED*.
Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle" to try to unclog it.
Or, exercise the WARRANTY, and get it replaced.

Just a thought, have a look at the Kodak web site, follow links for support and downloads, see if there's a firmware upgrade for you printer.

If not, email their techs via the contact us link, ask them if this is what the printer should do, if not, how to resolve the issue.

Because it looks like your maintenance company doesn't have much idea.

When printing photos especially A4 size my printer leaves white dotted lines across the photo

This is caused by the paper feed wheels (small spiked metal wheels to draw the paper through the printer.) Unfortunately, there is no way I know of to fix this, but you could try using different types of photo paper.

My photo prints have lines across them?!

the glossy paper you are using (hp) is smearing the ink... there is now ink on the feed rollers and you need to get in there and clean it all up with alcohol...also run epson matt paper for a few prints to get the color to lay down ..good luck

HP laserJet 6L printer making noise/not printing correctly

The problem with the screeching sound and horizontal lines printing is no lubricant for a small motor, not the main motor. To fix this problem, download the service manual which shows how to remove the case. You’ll need a phillips screwdriver and some machine oil or something similar to Z-Max. When the printer is apart and you’re facing it, on top there’s a compartment with a metal cover plate (shield) held by two screws. To the left is a spring loaded switching system that rocks into position when it’s called, and presses on the tab of a leaf switch. With the printer plugged up, you can press on the leaf switch which will engage the printers system, causing the printer to attempt printing. During this you’ll hear the screeching sound you’re describing. This is your test procedure during this repair. Next, notice the two multi-wire connectors at each end of the compartment. One bundle runs across the top of the compartment and connects on the other side. Remove both connectors and the two screws that hold down the shield; one holds down a metal pressure tab, also to be removed. This releases the shield exposing a small circuit board that has a control IC and a small motor. Three screws holds this circuit board to the printers plastic casing. Taking care not to handle the circuit traces (IC Static Protection Protocols), remove the screws and remove of the board. On this board is a small motor with it’s flywheel held down by a square weight and a pressure tab. Remove the top tab and the weight, turn the plastic guide to the side, and lift the flywheel away from the motor. Apply the lubricant to the shaft of the flywheel and reassemble the system. Try your switch test. Chances are, it’ll work without all that screeching. If you get that far, trust me, it’ll print. The "finge"

Lines

I will give you all the reasons I can think of.
1, If the line is only there when running through a document feeder and not there off the glass. The small strip of glass directly under the document feeder is dirty.
2. The drum has a scratch on it, or the cleaning blade is not cleaning the drum properly. Would require that cartridge replacement.
3. The fuser roller may be work in the middle. You would notice some reprinting , or ghost copying if that were bad.
4. Less likely would be some piece of fuzz in the light path, or a small piece of paper or tape in the paper path smearing the ink across the page.
If your machine prints, see if the line is on a print, if its on a print and not on the copy then it is scanner related.

Cannon Imageclass printing problem

You need to check your glass first to make sure it has no scratches. Then you can run a copy and open door to stop paper in the center of the machine, b4 it goes through fuser. If line is on copy, you have a bad drum. If not your upper fuser roller is bad.

Lines across the tail end of small photos

Your printer sounds as if it has a hatred for one type of paper size!!! Seriously, it could be a positional blockage, ie debris in a place that allows large paper no worries, but as soon as it repositions itself to do 4x6 it catches a block. open unit if you can and thoroughly check for debris, ie papeer bits. Hope this helps. Also give your printer some tlc, clean heads, both manually with solution and cotton buds, and run print tests, clear print jobs memory, and try unconnecting and reconnecting cables, and powere supply.
