Re: Very loud spin cycle
Your bearings i the tub have gone bad. It happens usually if you use powder soap. It doesnt dissolve all the way and gets into the bearings and ruins them. Sorry but this is a pretty expensive fix. When you get it fixed used liquid soap and it shouldnt happen again.

If this sound starts slow and gets faster till its helicopter sounding you probly have a verry worn spot on the drive belt when that spot goes around the pully it will thump the faster ti spins the more frequent the sound If you tilt the washer back you should be able to see the belt to examine it if this the problem
replace the belt

If it sounds like a jet engine and gets louder the faster it spins you have bad bearings and that wont hurt anything. If your using pwder soap that is what made the bearings go out so switch to liquid and it shouldnt get much worse.
