Question about Washing Machines

Frigidaire Gallery Washer Leaking around drum

So just for the sake of trying I'm not out anything if I try to fix it and it doesn't work. Does just the seal have to be replaced or does the bearing too on this model?

You should always replace both. For the cost, it isn`t worth it to replace one, then put it back together and then find out that you should have replaced both of them. If I can help you any farther, I will.

What you should do is find a appliance store that handles many deferent brands and talk to them about reliability and warranty issues. They are all about the same in my opinion. Some have better warranties than others. Some have better features than others. You`ll have to talk to a appliance center about these things and make a judgement on cost verses features and warranty. As an example Crosley has a ten year warranty on most of there products The cost is on the lower end but they may not wash as well or have as many features as some of the upper scale Whirlpool that have lower yrs on there waranties. So it`s hard to give much advice about that. It all depends on what your looking for, price, warranty, durability. You`ll have to compare to make a good dicision. As far as repaire, I think I have worked on every brand almost equaly. Anyway, it`s hard to tell wich brand I`ve worked on more. I hope I have been of some help to you.

Washer Knob broke

You can use the knob to turn the washer to the correct cycle, and then use a pair of long nose pliers to gently pull the center hub out to start the washer. This is of course only a work around. I'll post more if I figure out how to fix this as well.

Frigidaire gallery front load won't spin

Does the washer spin after the wash cycle? It sounds like the door switch. This is a common problem with frigidaires. 90% of the time a door switch fixes it.

Dryer drum has come loose, how do I tighten it?

These machines have a metal ball (like a small trailer hitch ball) mounted on the rear of the drum that rides in a plastic saddle mounted on the rear of the machine,
The parts that you need to replace would be the plastic glides mounted in the front of the drum that run on teflon pads glued to the rim around the door. When they get bad you start to notice dammaged clothing.
The drum is allowed to sag down enough that clothing can get into the gap at the bottom and as the drum turns upward the items get pinched when the gap closes at the top.
All these parts can be replaced but be prepared if you do it yourself, this is a tough machine to work on.
Good Luck

FWT445GES1 Washer makes loud banging noises like it's going to explode.

Washer- you need a complete tub and bearring kit. this is a common problem for people who have well water. (also just happens) the rear yoke has become corroded and broken. its a costly repair.

dryer - you would need a new front slider seal. very simple to install.

I have a frigidaire gallery front load washer need help

Run the machine on a cycle with no load in it (no soap powder either)

If it makes the same noise when there are no clothes in it then the suspension legs have given way or the counterweight has come loose.
You will need someone who knows what they are doing to repair it

Washer is leaking around bottom of the drum.

Yes, this does sound like the seal is bad. Unless you have replaced the bearing and seal in one of these bafore. It can be very dificult, without expierence. If not replaced correctly, it can still leak or can cause other problems.
