The computer monitor the screen its looking blurr I see purple lines and blue lines across the screen . could this be fix?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Are you using a CRT (heavy, large monitor) or a LCD display (thin, light)?

What about the connection cables from the computer to the monitor, are they VGA (15 pins on the inside of the cable plug) or DVI (there should be many "twisted" pins, usually with a flat plate on one side)?

    Hope to hear back :)

Also, if you changed the screen resolution to something your monitor will not support you will get the same thing happening.

Is any displayport have in Intel D865GBF Motherboard

Yes

It has a VGA port for a VGA monitor. The port is BLUE in color, NOT PURPLE.

This is an example of a VGA Cable, and a VGA connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

Note the number of socket holes, and the arrangement of the socket holes.

There are 5 socket holes across the Top row.
There are 5 socket holes across the Middle row.
There are 5 socket holes across the Bottom row.

The Purple connector with 5 socket holes across the Top row, and 4 socket holes across the Bottom row, is NOT it.
Not the VGA connector.

You can connect a CRT type of monitor, (Looks like a small TV), or a flat LCD screen monitor, IF it has a VGA cable.

[ There is also an adapter that you can plug a flat LCD screen monitor into, and the other side of the adapter plugs into the VGA port, on the back of your computer.

This is if the flat LCD screen monitor has a DVI cable,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

DVI to VGA adapter,

1) http://www.directron.com/dvitovga.html

2) http://www.directron.com/dviadapter.html

Look at the pins on the adapters. Now look at your monitor cable, and the VGA port on the computer. Make sure which adapter you need ]

The screen has a box that says : 1:Analog input Self Test Feature Check Red (line across) Green (line across) Blue (line across) White (line across) if you push the menu botton you get a other screen...

The issue is that the monitor in not getting the signal. This tells me that the video adapter ( or on board video) has went bad. Try another video card if all your doing is social media and surfing you can pick one up for around 20.00
