Question about Panasonic NN-S254BF Microwave Oven

1 Answer

No power to Panasonic NN-S252 microwave oven

Unit was working ok one minute, then when I tried to use it again a few minutes later the display was blank and nothing worked, like it had lost power.
Main circuit breaker checked and power to outlet is ok.
Does it have a "built-in" fuse, breaker or reset? If so where is it located?
Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated!!

Decided to just go ahead and open the darn thing up.
Very easy, just pull off the grill across the top, remove 2 screws at the top of the control panel, and lift the control panel up and out. The fuse can then be seen, removed and replaced. After removing the fuse and checking with Volt-Ohm-Meter, found it open. Now all I need to do is find a replacement and hope that it doesn't blow again.
Radio Shack sells a box of four 20A fuses for microwave ovens for $3, Great!!

Replaced the fuse (20A from Radio Shack) and its working again!!
Clock and all controls check out and working like before.
Used it several times now with no problems.

Don't want to force the grill across the top. Right side is loose but left
is very tight, I assume clips as I can not see any screws holding the
grill. Should I just force the left side a little harder. I can see the two
screws holding the control panel that I would like to remove to get at the
    fuse.

Where is the fuse on Panasonic NN-S252

You may have to remove the cover on the microwave to find a fuse. It may not be either in a fuse holder or soldered into a the circuit board. be sure it is not plug up when you check.
if you find it be sure and replace with the fuse with same current rating.

When power went off and then came back on, screen on micro wave continually shows demo and I cannot set time

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes and try again.

If it still won't work, then you may have a bad membrane keypad / DP circuit.

If your model is NN-P295SF, the service is here.

Parts can be ordered from Encompass here.

How do I get my Panasonic Inverter microwave out of demo mode? I think my toddler might have hit something to put it in demo!

Hello Two options to try: a) Press the Clock / Timer button 3 times b) Unplug, wait a few seconds, then re-plug to power up with the factory settings. You will need to reset your clock and any favourite settings.
This should work with all Panasonic Microwave models.
Good luck

No owner's manual?

If you're in the US, find it here.

If you're not in the US, see Panasonic.net and look for support / download links.

Otherwise, I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.
