Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 Digital Camera

4 Answers

I only have the camera for two months. At first the flash worked well for night pictures but now all night or indoor pictures are dark. No matter how i change the settings i cannot get the pictures to lighten up. Any suggestions?

In the menu under the the 2nd option, you can adjust flash settings. Under flash control, I switched to the pre-flashttl option and was able to take pictures with the flash after having the same problem.

I had the exact same problem and decided that rather than throw it away which would be second.... I took the back off to see if there was anything i could do.
What happened was my cats knocked it over one day and you will see inside there is a battery that is right below the circuits for the two buttoms that control flash and picture. I gave it a little push tighter up to the circuits (they weren't making proper contact) and then after a successful trial shot, put it back together and it is working perfectly. It's amazing to think that a forced movement inside of this device will completely set it off. And I can't even imagine how much money I saved. Knowing full well we don't often get 100% honesty when taking a device in to be fixed. :)

Chuck it away, and buy a Pentax. I've had nothing but problems with my A350. Appalling piece of kit where batteries can go 2minutes after replacing them. Disgraceful shoddy kit.

Hello Lullee, the culprit is in the flash (electronic) section. Replacement of the module or repair on a component level can be done in Authorized Panasonic Service. Best regards, Arpad

Flash wont work

Use the flash when you take pictures at night, indoors, or outdoors in heavy shadows. You can chose what flash mode, by pressing several times on the little button on top of the camera where the lightening logo is. One of the settings is flash off. Make sure it is not in that mode, because even when it is dark the flash won't fire. The other modes are flash, fill in flash and red eye reduction flash.

Pictures very dark even with a light meter

Digital cameras operate on a delayed shutter. Your Camera and flash are not synchronized. Try adjusting flash to a slower speed. Or the cameras Fstop value to get them insync.

If you half push the shutter the rangefinder and focus circuits kick in and will adjust to available light and give you your best picture. Do not ever push the shutter in one step. press it slightly to get the best focus and then push the last millimeter to get the picture!

Pictures to dark at night

no there isn,t.but these cameras do not have enough flash to take great pictures at night, for one you cant be to far away, two you have to have a subject in range of the flash, other wise all you get is darkness.but at the most 10ft is the farthest you can go and still get a great shot at dark.also use auto mode when taking pictures, because it adjusts to light-dark etc.i know this because i have the same camera and its awesome, plus im a photo technician and ran a photo lab for 3years selling digital cameras. good luck, hope i helped

Sonyy w55 flash works but shot come really dark

Press Menu button
togle across from REC Mode to setup
togle down thrice from camera to setup 1
togle across into sub menu
togle down from four times to Initialize
togle across again to the sub-menu
togle up from cancel to OK
press center button to accept the OK choice
Screen changes and so press okay again
It should restart the camera
Opening on the 'Clock Set' screen
togle down to cancel and use the camera and make sure that you have the camera to flash, if it works try again in the Auto function.
If it is still not working do not worry follow the steps again two or three more times, As this is generally a software error message and not a hardware malfunction.
If it is working then don't forget to set your Clock.
