Charger not charging

I have a Ryobi 18v cordless drill model HP1802m, and I am trying to determine if my batteries are bad or the charger is bad. When I place the battery in the charger only the green and yellow lights are lit and after several hours the is no charge in the battery. What could the problem be?

Michael, How old is the drill? the battery? Did this not change just happen or have you noticed a gradual shorter life on each charge. If you know someone with a volt meter you can check the charger output. Just plug the charger in and measure the volts on the terminals of the charger. It should measure at least 18 volts DC.

Does this happen to both batteries or just one if it is both then i would suspect the charger is bad and not the battery
