the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I'm working on a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop with Word 2003. When I type " I get @ appearing and vice versa - they have exchanged with each other. What have I done?

Did somebody remove the "key-caps" and switch them, as a "prank" ?
The order of letters on the keyboard is: EXCLAMATION, AT, OCTOTHORPE, DOLLAR, PERCENT.

Or, check the "keyboard input language". Windows allows for different keyboards, such as Norwegian and German, that have different keys in different places on the keyboard.
Switch to "US English".

Be sure that your keyboard is configured properly. You should be able to check under the "Region and Language" area of control panel if you are in windows and select "Keyboards and Languages." Check that it is set as a US keyboard or that it's set to which keyboard type you are using.

This could be a problem with the Language / Keyboard Language, try setting a different language in Regional Options -> Keyboard Language and switch to another one from here.

The wrong symbols appear when key pressed. i.e " appears when @ is pressed and vice versa

sounds like you have the keyboard set to the wrong country. Go into control panel, then into regional settings and set the language and keyboard for the area in which you live ( like english US or english australian) then reboot to load the correct codepage... Have fun.
