How do I drain the water from my LG portable air conditioner (LP1010SNR)

I plugged in my air conditioner and the code P2 keeps flashing and no air is coming out. I looked up P2 and it means it water detection and I'm suppose to drain out the water. How do I do that? Where is the water?

Lift up the window securing the AC, and CAREFULLY tilt back the unit. The water lays towards the back of the A/C under the fan.

Well it needs to be fix by a professional, so if you or someone you know are good at tinkering go for it. It as a sensor problem at the evaporator.

The P2 Code you're getting is for a system failure. More than likely a sensor has failed In which case, you should contact LG's Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, as it "may" be covered under Warranty.

How do you drain water from a LP1010snr air conditioner?

P2 means the water collection tank is full and needs to be drained. You have to pull the drain plug at the bottom of the unit and drain the water.
Drain the water (small amount actually) in the shower. Note: There is a cap towards the bottom of the unit that you will need to unscrew, then pull out the rubber plug. Fired up the unit after the water drain ... it worked fine.

Hi I HAVE A DIMPLEX AIR-CON It was already here when I moved into this house but lately after it been for on about 5 mins it stops and it display a code of P2. I dont know how to get hold of a manual...

If your model is a portable AC unit, the P2 indicates that water needs to be drained from the tank.
Turn the unit OFF and unplug it, before draining the water from the lower tank into a shallow sided pan capable of holding at least 1 quart of water. Once it has completely drained, reinsert the drain plug, plug the unit in and turn it ON. The P2 Error Code should have disappeared. If not, press the ON/OFF button twice.

I hope this helped you.

We have the portable air condioner model LP1010snr and we have drained the tanks and still have the P2 warning. It will not start working. what can we do?

Turn the Master ON/Off Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 15 minutes. Then plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Hopefully, during that 15 minute timeout, the electronics reset and reverted back to the original factory settings.

Hope this helped you solve the problem.

I have a P2 error on my LG air conditioner. How do i drain the water out. TY

I think what you're seeing is actually a E2 error code. Which is "Sensor protection, to avoid occurrence of unit damage, auto-stop protection." In simple terms, one of the senors in the unit is failing or has failed and it has shut the unit OFF. If it was warning you that the bucket was full, it would show FL.

To find out more about the Sensor Protection, call LG Customer Support (800) 243-0000.

LG LP0910WNR portable Air Conditioner error code P2 and shut down

P2 is a water tray full error. I had error once, and it had me puzzled because I have a tube from the back, and unit elevated. It was producing water out the back, so it was clearly draining.
Called LG (very prompt service, no wait times at all).
The girl said that error was water tray, I still didn't believe her.
So I pulled unit from location, and tipped at a good angle.
Sure enough, less that a cup of water drained, and now it works fine.

I purchased and LG Model# LP1010SNR on 8-3-10 at Home Depot. It was a floor model and did not come with an owners manual. It has a digital display screen. It is intended to run for several hours at a time...

What happens on this unit is it will suddenly stop followed by a series of chimes. You can reset the unit, but it will end with the same set of chimes. My unit display had a P2 code. As mentioned above, I drained the water (small amount actually) in the shower. Note: There is a cap towards tha bottom of the unit that you will need to unscrew, then pull out the rubber plug. Fired up the unit after the water drain ... it worked fine. If they can make a GI Joe talk ... why can this unit simply say ... "Please Drain". P2 is so intuitive.
