My problem seems to have sorted its self out. I am keeping my eye or should I say ear on it and hope it remains so.

Thank you

One of our employees ran into a similar problem with her desk phone. We would pick up the receiver and hear a weird kind of busy signal. We couldn't dial out, get calls, or access her voicemail. The misleading part was that the phone display was working, so I assumed that the batteries were still good. After spending an hour skulking through our phone software and Google, I decided to re-check the phone itself. I replaced it with a tester phone, and it worked, the dial tone was back. So I opened up the original phone and checked the batteries. They weren't quite dead but were getting close to it. Evidently there was enough juice left to power the display, but not to allow incoming or outgoing calls. As soon as I put fresh ones in, the normal dial tone returned for that phone. Always start with the basics when it comes to phones - power, connection, volume.

I get busy signal when dialing from contact list in my Uniden Dect 6.0

New telephone company procedures in many areas now
require that all 10 digits be dialed even for local calls --
Area Code + Exchange + Number

Perhaps your Directory listings do not include the area code ?

Good luck!

Every time I try to fax I get a busy signal. I tried to fax several places and I get the same thing cannot be completed as dial.

dial those numbers from a regular phone and listen for fax tones. If you hear a busy signal, then they are busy.

I cant fax

Take your cell-phone, and dial the same number, to see if you get the same "busy" signal.

If the telephones in your business require you to "dial-9" to get an "outside" line, be sure that your FAX is also following that "dial-9" protocol, and also waiting 1 or 2 seconds after the "dial-9", in order to get the dial-tone from the "outside" line.

When trying to fax, iam getting a fast busy signal, this problem just strated

This could be related to the fax machine, but more than likely it's a phone line issue. Try sending a fax manually by using the fax machine's speaker or "on-hook", then manually dial the number. Listen carefully as the machine dials and make sure it's even dialing out. Do not hit start until you hear the other fax machine pick up. If the "fast" busy signal occurs before dialing is complete or right after, have your phone line checked.

Fax machine error

I called Kodak support and had to upgrade firm software and reset all the settings to reflect whether I had an answering machine (yes) and call waiting (no). Also found it helpful sometimes to dial out using commas after the 1, to keep it from ringing busy.
