Re: Only printing top lefthand quarter of the image on...
Try switching the computer and printer off, then detach all the leads between computer and printer. Plug the leads back in very carefully and firmly. Also check that your internet connection (ethernet) leads are firmly seated in the back of the PC, and your router. Then switch back on. Any improvement? Does replacing the leads help?
I had a very similar problem on my 5550 model (it wouldn't print from internet) - and found this solution by accident. Perhaps it will help you. If not, hope someone else can help.

There are several ways to capture images from the internet.
In your browser, right click on an image and select Save Image As...
or Copy Image and then paste into your graphics application.
Some web pages use programming to prevent copying images and the right click and copy/save won't work easily. There are ways around it, but you have to start hacking the copy protection code.
Do a screen or window capture:
On a Windows PC, look for a Print Scr (Print Screen) key on your keyboard.
Press that key and the whole screen will copied to the "clipboard" and can be pasted into another application. You may need to use another key in combination with Print Scr. I have to press the Fn key + Print Scr on my keyboard. Don't actually type the "+".
Also, the Alt key + Print Scr will capture only the current window, not the whole screen.
There are many screen capture programs out there as well. IrFanView is an excellent free graphics tool with a screen capture feature.
Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and precious time.
look toward top righthand side of keyboard for a key saying, (prnt scrn) or similar, if the writing on the key is coloured there may be a key labeled FN next to the control key bottom lefthand corner of keyboard which you have to press together with prnt scrn. hope this helps.
Check if you have to press the fn (function) key on your laptop before pressing Print Screen, you can tell if they are both the same blue color.
When you press ALT+Print Screen, you only capture the active window, when you
click print screen you capture the entire screen. Then you will have to
press CTRL+V on your keyboard to paste into paint. If you have windows Vista, you can capture screen shots much more easily using the Snipping Tool included with Vista.
Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. It may be labeled [PrtScn].
Open an image editing program, such as Microsoft Paint.
Go to the Edit menu and choose Paste.
If prompted to enlarge the image, choose Yes.
Optional: Use your image editor's crop tool to crop out unnecessary portions of the screen shot.
Go to the File Menu and choose Save As.
Navigate to the folder where you want to save the image.
Type a file name for the image.
Select a file type.
Click the Save button.
Hold the Alt key down while pressing Print Screen to capture only the active window.
Generally the GIF format works best when saving screen shots of application windows. The JPEG format usually makes screen shots (especially those with text) blurry, blotchy and discolored.
See related resources below for more screen shot tips
and listings of screen capture software that offers many more options
for capturing screens and portions of screens on Windows and Macintosh
The Windows "clipboard" is a term used to
describe the temporary storage space in memory where an item is placed
when you copy or cut. When you paste, the item is transferred to the
program you're working in. If you copy something else, the old item is
replaced with the new. You can't manipulate the clipboard directly; it's
only used for copy and paste operations.
two things you can do, first right click on your windows screen and look for "settings" this will open a dialog box where you can set the screen resolution. Set it lower and see if your screen is now filled. if that doesn't work go into the monitor setup (buttons on the bottom or side of the monitor) and try to set the verticle and horizontal size, since its only 3/4 of an inch you should be able to stretch the screen to fill up the space.
That is a firmware issue. You can go to Xerox.com and follow these procedures.
Print a Configuration Report and review the Engine Firmware Version section to determine the firmware version. See the Related Items below for additional information.
Firmware version 05.08.00 or higher can be installed to resolve the image quality problem. If necessary, upgrade the firmware version. See the Related Items below.
If the printer's firmware version is currently at 05.08.00, replace the Print Cartridge. See the Related Items below.
