First thing to try is removing the battery, and possibly trying with another. If noting happens when you press the power button, check that the battery contacts are clean.

If everything seems to be ok but noting is happening, I would suggest you contact your dealer for warranty repairs if you are outside of warranty you can get a free repair estimate from www.advancecamera.com for example

TAC-125 telefunken does not switch of and the screen is sowing green and gray lines across the screen

If the camcorder won't switch off, just open the battery compartment and remove the batteries. Let the camcorder stand for a couple of hours (or preferably overnight), then replace the batteries and try again.
FWIW, many camcorders will only let you transfer files to a PC if the camcorder is mains-powered, so that the transfer will not be interrupted by the battery failing part way through.

My Sony DCR-TRV240 camcorder won't eject the tape. The power and all camera features work, but it won't eject a tape.

I'm sorry that the Camcorder is not ejecting tape. Please follow the troubleshooting steps provided below and check the operation:

1. Please make sure that the battery is fully charged. 2. Perform Reset by following steps:

1. Locate the RESET button behind the LCD panel of the camcorder. 2. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds. 3. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.

3. Perform a manual power reset by following the steps:

1. Turn off the camcorder. 2. Disconnect AC power adapter. 3. Remove the battery pack. 4. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds. 5. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position. 6. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack. 7. Turn on the camcorder.

If the issue persists after following all the steps service will be required. You can find repair information and initiate service at:

Thank you for using Fixya. Please let me know if you require any clarifications.

When you open the camcorder, it appears on the screen: PLEASE WAIT, CONDENSATION OPERATION PAUSED. JVC Digital Video Camera> Model D70AS

This is usually an indication of high humidity or dampness inside the camcorder. Some devices say "DEW" instead. Most of the time, a simple "airing out" will allow the moisture to be evaporated away. The amount of time required for this to happen is dependent of how damp it is inside the camera and how dry the air is when trying to air it out. Obviously, dry air will evaporate the moisture much quicker than humid air. If you can power the camcorder from your home's electricity - you might want to leave it on so that the electronics inside the camcorder can heat up and significantly reduce the evaporation time.

If the camcorder message doesn't clear after a reasonable period of time, it may require professional servicing. I hope this helps and good luck. Please rate my reply - thanks!

If the issue still persists, reset the Camcorder.

Please open the LCD screen to locate the RESET button.

To reset the Camcorder, just press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object.

Please make sure that the Camcorder is turned ON while pressing the RESET button.

If the issue still persists, please Power Reset the Camcorder and check if that helps.

To power reset the Camcorder, please remove the Battery Pack from the Camcorder and then set the Power Switch to ON for 15 seconds.

Then, reinsert the Battery Pack after 1 minute and check if that helps.

Thank You!!

The canon xlh1 camcorder, can someone tell me which on camera auto light works auto on this camcorder in low light, i've asked lots of sellers of canon video camera lights and nobody seems to know they...

Hi Gerry,

I don't know but I think the chat session was disconnected. Anyway, there is product from Canon itself and the model of the video light is VL-3 Video Light.

http://pc.pcconnection.com/1/1/10726-canon-usa-video-vl-3-video-light-3175a002.html

"Optional light sources provide extra illumination when shooting either video or still images. The VL-3 Video Light connects to the Advanced Accessory Shoe and is powered directly by the camcorder. Therefore, no cables are required."

This is should be compatible with the camcorder you are using.

Please advise for the results.

I haven't used it in a couple of years, it's in excellant condition I think, but it has a code flashing and I am unsure what to do.

That's what I will try and do. Here's what we need to do:

Sony® camcorders nowadays have a built-in rechargeable battery for retaining time, date, and other settings. Since the built-in rechargeable battery is not removable, current camcorder models can only be returned to the original factory settings by pressing a small RESET button on the camcorder.
Older-model camcorders (prior to the year 2000) do not have a built-in rechargeable battery or RESET button, and require a manual power reset.
IMPORTANT: To determine whether or not your camcorder has a RESET button, or if model-specific information is required to complete any of the steps in this solution, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport Web site.
Follow the appropriate procedure below for your camcorder.
Using a RESET button
  1. Locate the RESET button on the camcorder.
  2. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds.
  3. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.
Performing a manual power reset
  1. Turn off the camcorder.
  2. Disconnect AC power adapter.
  3. Remove the battery pack.
  4. Remove the lithium button-cell battery.
  5. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds.
  6. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position.
  7. Reinsert the lithium button-cell battery.
  8. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack.
  9. Turn on the camcorder.
If your camcorder is experiencing an issue and the issue is not resolved by performing the appropriate reset procedure above, then service may be required. The Sony® eService Web site at http://eservice.sony.com/ can assist you in obtaining service from a Sony Service Center or locating a Sony Authorized Servicer.

Let me know how it turns out.

Dc210 finalize disk

I'm not sure if you'd already tried this...but I hope this helps.

The camcorder can only finalize a disc if it is powered by the AC power adapter....according to p.61 of the users manual, the (finalize) operation cannot be started if the camcorder is powered only with the battery pack.
