I have soundmax as sound driver for my asus p5pe vm motherboard. the sound seemed fine but i'm having trouble with the recording because it doesn't support the microphone i'm using. the warning logo appears whenever i try to activate the microphone... so please help...thanks....
I have the same problem in a new computer (ASUS PQ5E Mobo). Through trial and error I have found that with automatic detection settings enabled, my mobo detects the microphone only when it is plugged into the mobo connections at the back of the computer and not when it is plugged into the front jacks. The microphone works under these conditions, but not when moved to the front jacks. It seems to be an autodetection error.

well I sugest you to upgrade your computer with a removable sound card as Creative audigy for example,as long as you are not using the computer only to listen to music:)so..I suggest you to give up the on board sound card..it will never satisfy your exigence.it is to solicitated and it might fall for good if you keep using it for more than a simple music listen..its not just a software/driver problem..here we are talking about a hardware problem..youre on board soundcard simply cant do the job bye
